  1. Mike, I believe the aircraft above was bought by a guy in central West NSW. Was an un flown prototype?
  2. You could drill a hole into which the plastic over flow tube would fit tightly. Can cut the tube at an angle so it can be pulled through then cut off. Some slack in the tube will allow the cap to be removed.
  3. Cross out "are trying to produce" and replace it with HAVE PRODUCED. Impediments to this, Lawyers, vested interests, useless government.
  4. Interesting to see the exhaust early in the vid. Looked stock Rotax, no dual expansion chambers. The exhaust was wrapped maybe to minimise cooling drag and maximise exhaust thrust, every bit helps. The 582 tuned up could produce 100hp given it's displacement.
  5. Would be nice if we could have something like this. Never happen in Australia. LA Special Flight Rules WWW.AOPA.ORG Want to fly over one of the world’s busiest airports without talking to ATC?
  6. This happened on the apron at cowra on a low wind day a few years ago. Pilots left the aircraft for a short time. Empty weight about 430kg for the piper colt.
  7. I guess the real question is if everything went to plan and the two aircraft missed by 100 feet would this be acceptable. No is the answer.
  8. Will you use ripper, the Gallion stallion in your gold prospecting after building the runway? I believe metal detection people use them to strip off the surface layer.
  9. Interesting they had left and right handed heads. Most aero engines have only one type of cylinder.
  10. Bolly test their propellers with a V8 engine and spin them to well in excess of there design speed. I like by 2 blade bolly on the 582 rotax.
  11. JR rudys point 2 about ATC not providing the helicopter with traffic information is just plain wrong. Listen to the tape. Paraphrasing "Traffic is a rj700 at the bridge for runway 33" at the time of this transmission the helicopter was about same distance from the pinch point as the jet, both aircraft similar speed, what to do what to do, slow down maybe so the jet passes ahead?
  12. We now know the helicopter was flying the 200ft or below route along the river. Looking at the chart, the passenger jet has to cross the helicopter route while descending, about 3/4 mile from the threshold of 33. 3/4 mile would put the jet at about 200ft yes? An accident waiting to happen.
  13. Looking at the replay on fr24, runway 01 mostly and 33 occasionally were in use, this would have been on the Airport Terminal Information Service. The helicopter pilots having sighted the jet may have believed it was on approach to 01 thus placing it further away than it actually was on the 33 approach. Distance can be hard to judge at night.
  14. Is the security check a one off for a part 61 license holder or is there an on going requirement to hold either an asic or avid?
  15. My guess is there would be a fair percentage of pilots of both types that have neither an asic or avid.
  16. Why would the helicopter not cross over directly above the runway?, to be flying in the known approach path of large passenger jets seems stupid.
  17. What is the red ultralight hanging up
  18. After watching blancolirios vid it could only be described as a cluster f on so many levels.
  19. Farm, motorbike, our best engineer.
  20. Airtractor 802 fire boss is a very impressive aircraft.
  21. RFguy admiring the ? and a 1985 ultralight still being flown and enjoyed in 2025.
  22. Tullamore is just down the road, about 140km from Nyngan
  23. Skippy, without the inner wire the scat hose will most likely collapse, I realise the very short length won't allow a complete collapse.
  24. Turbo, this is not about changing anything. It is about educational material on the current system.
  25. I used to live near Nyngan. Nyngan to Nevertire is 64 km of complete straightness. Engine failed at 8000 ft near Mullengudgery, about 15nm from YNYN, a little to far to glide. Nice job.
