  1. Yes, it connects via WiFi to display adsb traffic.
  2. FR24 shows landing well east of gympie township.
  3. Final destination appears to be a short strip surrounded by timber.
  4. Skippys aircraft did not show on fr24 as he departed and climbed. Aircraft with adsb transponders show on fr24 in the circuit at cowra.
  5. They have to wrong park in the vid.
  6. Had a look at the flight track. They did a good job into that tiny Terone park. Fairfield golf course would get my vote.
  7. Operational limitations for class 5 medical. Operational limitations include: Private operations only. Aircraft certificated maximum take-off weight must be 2000 kg or less. Must only operate under the visual flight rules (day VFR) by day (no IFR, no IMC, no night VFR). Must not operate above 10,000 feet above mean sea level. Must have no more than 2 persons on board. Must not use a CASR Part 61 operational rating. For example, instructor rating or low-level rating. For a complete list, refer to the definitions in CASR 61.010. Must not conduct aerobatics or formation flying. Must operate wholly within Australian territory. Pilots can access controlled and non-controlled airspace.
  8. There was also VH-ENA a Beech 58 stolen 5.1.77 at Wyndham. A sad event.
  9. He would have had one, he worked for the company as a ground operater.
  10. I saw some of the early fights on FR24 before they blocked it. Not much to see performance wise. If it was any good they would have it for all the world to see. Same for the eviation alice. If it's not on fr24 it's not a thing.
  11. Getting ready for the Pacific airshow. The freedom formation and the Roulettes, should be a great show.
  12. Skippy you must be excited by the Austro and Delta Hawk. Liquid, geared and diesel, ticks all the boxes. Are they cheaper than a Lycoming, not sure about that. Delta Hawk is direct drive.
  13. I think the market is for a screw in 3 and 1/8 inch replacement for a vacuum instrument in a certified or experimental aircraft. New builds will go with flat panels. I like my hybrid 6 pack.
  14. They could have included the Cessna 177, the new model that was to replace the 172. Not a bad aircraft but to different for many buyers. 4295 built.
  15. We saw it in 2019, was fairly fresh then. If it hasn't been redone it might be hard to see. Diamantina river between Birdsville and Lake Eyre was spectacular that year, amazing contrast with the red stony desert.
  16. Can't do that in a transall
  17. So this Gazelle should have an hour meter and hopefully logs that agree showing total time less the pilot record of brakes off to brakes on? OK sounds like a sweet deal.
  18. In my experience, hours for maintenance purposes are taken by the maintenance organisation from the hobbs or tacho as per maintenance release.
  19. That would be a Rotax.
  20. That is true, more so in times past. While warming up on the ground if I heard an inbound call from the north west either pilot could initiate a conversation about separation. Traffic on a screen would allow one or both to see if any actual conflict might exist without talking on what might be a busy ctaf. The future awaits.
  21. Wish I lived closer, would come and help.
  22. Departure call in a ctaf sould be part of the taxi call. No need for duplication. Cowra traffic RV kilo hotel alpha taxi for runway 33 departure to the north West cowra. Repeat departure direction if a rolling runway xxxx call is needed.
  23. The controller when passing traffic to the inbound aircraft basically gave them the same information they would have received in a departure call from the other aircraft. "Traffic is xxx a xxxxxxxxx departing mangalore for xxxxxxx via LACEY. Going to LACEY way point ment their tracks would cross. It is a lot to remember were every way point is.
  24. Good point Skippy, from the description of the fuel system the pump(s) will be after the collector tank so they will be sucking thru the non return valves. To much resistance could lead to vapour lock/ fuel starvation. Is the collector tank vented? In which case only the gravity head pressure is available to overcome the non return valve. Fuel systems are not always as simple as they seem.
  25. Coroners findings have been released for the Mangalore mid air collision. https://www.coronerscourt.vic.gov.au/sites/default/files/Mangalore Aircraft Accident (LC COR 2020 000950) - Form 37 .pdf His advice, get IN.
