  1. ...? Interesting. UK based eh. Considering there are normally flu deaths this time of year in the UK - How many people have died from the flu in the last few weeks ? .
  2. ...? So, how many incident/accidents are there on average in any given month ? .
  3. Meanwhile, the research just keeps piling up... for the better..... “...Dr John Ioannidis from Stanford University estimates a death rate between 0.025% and 0.65%. Another study, from Japan, found the death rate to be between 0.04 and 0.12. These are both, potentially, markedly LOWER than seasonal flu...” https://off-guardian.org/2020/04/11/coronavirus-fact-check-3-covid19-is-20x-deadlier-than-the-flu/ .
  4. Testing continues... “...A phlebotomist working at a Chicago hospital said Thursday that 30 to 50 percent of those tested for coronavirus have antibodies, and 10 to 20 percent of those tested are actual carriers of the virus. Sumaya Owaynat, a phlebotomy technician for Rosewood Community Hospital, has had extensive experience with coronavirus testing over the last few weeks, as she has been testing around 400 to 600 people per day in the hospital’s parking lot. Owaynat also stated that there is a far greater number of those that have come through her line and have already recovered from the virus compared to those who currently have the disease...” https://www.breitbart.com/health/2020/04/10/chicago-phlebotomist-coronavirus-antibodies-found-in-30-50-tested-for-covid-19/ .
  5. I seen a chap out front one time with a USAS 12G drum mag doing pest control - I woulda hated to be the farmer paying to run that. .
  6. I’m told the Drifter is a great hunting platform. Apparently yer just hold the rifle about parallel with yer right leg and as yer come up from behind and a few feet above the running buffalo yer shoot it in the back bone - anywhere from tail to head of the backbone will do to bring it down. Land and take the cuts yer want - over a 100kg will strap to the back seat so I’m told..? Good to know the versatility of our aircraft as we may need to go get our own food shortly - Seems there might be a food shortage coming up..... .
  7. ...? My recollection of ‘back in the day’ were a bit different. From memory it were not above 300’ and not over a public road ...and all pilots followed the regulations scrupulously...? Now days seems some just want to hide at home and peer out from behind the curtains..... .
  8. The g-grandad mystery. Are they his gg-dad’s photos, or are they photos of his gg-dad..? .
  9. Dunno that I’d be in such a rush to pull the gear up - Keep the speed down and let some of the mud shake off first. .
  10. http://www.lathes.co.uk/australian/ Some of the info is not correct and not all manufacturers are listed though gives an idea of what we once had..? .
  11. ...? “...Professor of Medicine, of Health Research and Policy and of Biomedical Data Science, at Stanford University School of Medicine and a Professor of Statistics at Stanford University School of Humanities and Sciences. He is director of the Stanford Prevention Research Center, and co-director of the Meta-Research Innovation Center at Stanford (METRICS). He is also the editor-in-chief of the European Journal of Clinical Investigation. He was chairman at the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology, University of Ioannina School of Medicine as well as adjunct professor at Tufts University School of Medicine. As a physician, scientist and author he has made contributions to evidence-based medicine, epidemiology, data science and clinical research. In addition, he pioneered the field of meta-research. He has shown that much of the published research does not meet good scientific standards of evidence. What he says: Patients who have been tested for SARS-CoV-2 are disproportionately those with severe symptoms and bad outcomes. As most health systems have limited testing capacity, selection bias may even worsen in the near future. The one situation where an entire, closed population was tested was the Diamond Princess cruise ship and its quarantine passengers. The case fatality rate there was 1.0%, but this was a largely elderly population, in which the death rate from Covid-19 is much higher. […] Could the Covid-19 case fatality rate be that low? No, some say, pointing to the high rate in elderly people. However, even some so-called mild or common-cold-type coronaviruses that have been known for decades can have case fatality rates as high as 8% when they infect elderly people in nursing homes. […] If we had not known about a new virus out there, and had not checked individuals with PCR tests, the number of total deaths due to “influenza-like illness” would not seem unusual this year. At most, we might have casually noted that flu this season seems to be a bit worse than average. – “A fiasco in the making? As the coronavirus pandemic takes hold, we are making decisions without reliable data”, Stat News, 17th March 2020...” https://off-guardian.org/2020/03/24/12-experts-questioning-the-coronavirus-panic/ .
  12. Nuf fun, back to the serious stuff... “...Dr Sucharit Bhakdi is a specialist in microbiology. He was a professor at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and head of the Institute for Medical Microbiology and Hygiene and one of the most cited research scientists in German history. What he says: We are afraid that 1 million infections with the new virus will lead to 30 deaths per day over the next 100 days. But we do not realise that 20, 30, 40 or 100 patients positive for normal coronaviruses are already dying every day. [The government’s anti-COVID19 measures] are grotesque, absurd and very dangerous […] The life expectancy of millions is being shortened. The horrifying impact on the world economy threatens the existence of countless people. The consequences on medical care are profound. Already services to patients in need are reduced, operations cancelled, practices empty, hospital personnel dwindling. All this will impact profoundly on our whole society. All these measures are leading to self-destruction and collective suicide based on nothing but a spook...” https://off-guardian.org/2020/03/24/12-experts-questioning-the-coronavirus-panic/ .
  13. Well, officer, your more then welcome to come to my place and find my missing car keys...? .
  14. Well, that were quiet the gallop around the paddock..? Now that yer back at the yards we’ll look at the interesting bit..? I collect old lathes amongst other things. Main focus is Australian built lathes. It could be argued that Lathes are a foundation tool of all manufacturing. (Today it is CNC lathes) Surprisingly we used to have many different factory’s in this country that built lathes for...... our general manufacturing industry..? There were even three different lathe manufacturers in Brisbane!!! Big country town Brisbane used to have that sort of industry..? Trouble were, people didn’t want to buy Oz made - they wanted that cheaper import. When the customers dont buy yer product then you need to find ways to cut costs..... And so it goes. So who’s to blame. The executive for farming out their company’s manufacturing to cheaper suppliers or the customer that buys on price, their own country be damned ? .
  15. If yer dont have an ‘essential purpose’, what are you doing flying in the first place..? .
  16. Heh, I’m thinking there’s a bit of an IQ test going on with them ‘restrictions’ - if yer caint think up a valid reason to be out and about then you really should be at home...? Pulled up for driving a historic plate car ?... answer, I’m using it to go to the shop because my daily driver is not working at this time..? .
  17. Them bad, bad, bad racist Taiwanese... “...The World Health Organization, unable to refute complaints about its response to the global coronavirus pandemic, built largely on its willingness to take Chinese government information at face value, is now calling its critics, particularly its Taiwanese critics, racists...” https://www.dailywire.com/news/world-health-organization-criticism-of-our-coronavirus-response-is-probably-racist .
  18. Meanwhile, over in Sweden...? https://www.euromomo.eu/index.html .
  19. If all yer gots is a hammer then all you see is nails. We know the demographics of over 95% of the ChiCom fatals. As I’ve mentioned from the get-go. Isolate yer-self if yer over 65 or have the identified health issues of concern - or are just worried. The rest of us get back to it...? .
  20. Some prelim stats from England, and written by a lock-down fan... “...The report also considers ethnicity. About four-fifths of the UK population is White, but only two-thirds of the critical cases to date are Whites. Blacks, in particular, are three times over-represented in intensive care: they represent one case in seven, but are only one in 20 of the population. Body mass index was also studied, but the number of cases in the below-normal, normal, overweight, obese and morbidly obese categories is not far out of line with the general population, two-thirds of whom are overweight or obese. Some 72% of intensive-care Chinese-virus cases are overweight or obese...” “...Take Vitamin D3 daily...” https://wattsupwiththat.com/2020/04/09/but-is-it-really-no-worse-than-flu/
  21. High level idiocy...? Another week or so of this and many Australians are just going to do as they please. The kids will just go out and party. What are the little despot Mao’s going to do then ? Throw everybody in jail..? .
  22. One nearly got me. On the take off run the propellor blew to bits just as the aircraft went past where I were sitting. Chunk of wood missed me by a foot..? I seems to recall most of the fatals back then were licensed pilots. Us self taught ultralight pilots seemed to survive..? .
