  1. Big clue for some. Seen at Bankstown today.
  2. Latest offering from Pilot Shop.
  3. Congratulations! Look forward to seeing a few photos of the end result of all your hard work.
  4. My son lent me a Merc 230SLK Compressor the other day. As usual it had bugger all fuel left in it. I thought i'd just put in about $30 bucks worth of fuel in it, and it did seem to be a very quick delivery. It obviously couldn't handle the high delivery rate and vented a decent size patch of fuel on the ground which needed washing away. Presumeably that's the reason why.
  5. Don't forget the tank in the trailer. HaHa! Was short of money on home trip so lifted right foot on every downhill slope. That's what I got anyway, partly trying to prove something to No1 son who drives an imported Nissan drift car, and would have probably needed a few tyre changes over that distance, and arrived home on the rims. Despite a bit of a rallying past, he says I drive like Miss Daisey now. He's possibly right, but I still have all my points.
  6. Well there you go, depends on the size of your right foot, plus i'm sure a regular bit of Armor all helps.
  7. I tend to read Nine News online and find it frustrating how many spelling mistakes/typo's you get every single day. Not only is the journalism poor in many cases, but proof-reading if it still exists, seems non-existent,
  8. Well that was an interesting read learning what not to buy. I think i'll stick with my 12 yr old Falcon Wagon on dedicated LPG that's got 378,000 kms on the clock . A couple of months back it got me from Melbourne back to Sydney 868 kms on a tank full of cheap gas. It's been totally reliable for years up until this afternoon when is started to run like a dog and the power brakes gave me a bit of a surprise. A fractured vacuum hose will be replaced in the morning costing probably 20 bucks or so to fix the problem. I did a new 2 pack paint job on it last year to freshen it up, and under the bonnet everything gleams like brand new. I'm sure it will continue to give great service till this old codger pushes the daisies out of the ground. Hopefully that'll be a while yet.
  9. Certainly beats trying to push a shopping bag out the vent of a Piper Warrier while flying over the Blue Mountains. (Name of lady concerned is withheld, as she's quite well known around the flying fraternity)
  10. I believe he can also arrange to mow the strip prior to flights.
  11. Just don't do three short bursts, followed by three long, then three short ones again in the dead of night, because you might find a neighbour has overheard and called for an ambulance that you didn't really need.
  12. I found that fascinating. Thanks for posting that PMC
  13. I had brachy-seed therapy with 116 radioactive seeds implanted because my PSA was in the medium to high range, and it is now down to 0.01 over 10 yrs later. It had the unfortunate effect of killing off one of the things we males normally enjoy in life, and the mind still makes appointments which the body can no longer keep. But i'm still here at 76 to enjoy other things in life. All I can recommend is if you have a problem? get it fixed ASAP. The alternatives, if neglected, are not real good.
  14. A bit of pvc pipe from Bunnings dosen't cost a fortune. C'mon guys you can't all be that tight. If you have a passenger and are a bit shy, tell them to look out for another aircraft off the starboard wingtip.
  15. Todays BBC NEWS article on his flying mishaps https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-52503316
  16. I saw a Flying Flea derivative many years ago at The Oaks. I don't know where it came from, maybe Wedderburn, but it seemed to do all that was asked of it. That was around the time Pylon 500 had his little Stolite parked there. OMG! just Googled it. That would have been 20 or 21 yrs ago Arthur. Is it still flying?
  17. 12hrs bee tween bottle and throttle should always bee observed
  18. My speculation----Too high on finals, or possibly a fuel problem caused by running on Bee Pee. Can't wait for the RAA report.
  19. You don't have to be mad to be on this site, but it sometimes appears to help:tongue in cheek:
  20. Another case of a Cherokee having to land in Comanche territory, perhaps ? Summary and Definition: The Comanche tribe were a formidable people located in the southern areas of the Great Plains. The Comanche tribe were renown as excellent horsemen. They fiercely fought against enemy tribes of Native Indians and resisted the white encroachment of the Great Plains. Last word possibly spelled wrong, maybe was supposed to be planes.
  21. . This will be another interesting build to follow. Certainly looks like you are off to a great start. Keep the enthusiasm going, and it looks like Dad is enjoying it too because he's looking forward to a ride..
  22. I'm willing to test that theory. If you can scratch build an aircraft, you cant be a stupid man
  23. I'm a grateful soul. If anyone has a nice Jabiru they want to dispose of as a matter of urgency, I might just be able to accommodate it in the car port of my retirement village. If any others are going begging, take it to Admins joint, he'd be grateful too i'm sure.
