Massive "Thank you!" today to @nomadpete who generously offered his time and expertise. He spent the afternoon working out my instrument panel wiring. Still a bit to go but a lot further than I would have got on my own. Really appreciate the help Peter!

With the shedroom finished (we moved in Boxing day) I've been clearing out stuff in the rest of the shed. Today with the help of my 12yo son, we performed a 60-point turn with the plane (along with some sideways lifting) to get it around the corner in the L shaped space. She's now backed up to the roller door and today for the first time, her shapely behind got some sun! 😁

Well no wonder it was unsuccessful - they forgot the rear fuselage and horizontal stabilizer, pointed the engines the wrong way and mounted the tail upside down.

WTF?? The damn thing was on the ground and upright, and almost stopped. Why did he eject instead of just switching off and walking away?

It looks very unstable with the engines that far above the rest of it. Shouldn't the thrust line be as close to the longitudinal centreline as possible??

Service ceiling: 16 ft. Love it. At that altitude the top of the tail is 5x higher than the service ceiling.

According to the CASA register it was manufactured in 2001 but first registered in Australia last year. -

That seems a little wasteful, besides the risk of taking your tail off, I can't imagine many of the discarded wings tumbling down were able to be reused!

Spotted what looked like a small aircraft carrier tied up at the wharf in Hobart. Turns out it's the USS Tripoli, an amphibious assault ship, with a complement of F35's and Ospreys. All the F35's were below deck but there was an Osprey sitting on top. That $15k sounds really expensive. A few years ago I was looking at buying a 162 Skycatcher from Tyabb and transporting it down here, the quote I got at the time was $1600. Have you looked at buying a container, packing the plane yourself, getting it shipped then selling the container again? It'd fit in a 20' container and I reckon they sell just as well down here as anywhere else.

I don't understand how he managed to start and fly a twin engine aircraft if he wasn't trained as a pilot. Guessing it's got constant speed props too? I wouldn't be able to do that, at least not well.
