The XPB Stage 1 underway.

Why, to find out where they stuffed up the translation in the instruction manual that made you put the thing together inside out? -

Ultralight crash North of Rockhampton

FYI, the guy in the back is not an instructor, he did very well I think. You are correct about the speed thing to a degree, I don't find the wind to be a problem in my trike, it is more that as you get up above about 75 knts mine becomes more work than play to keep it straight and level -

That trike is an Air Creation Tanarg, which is not really relevant to the cause of many of these accidents IMHO. The trike is fitted with an Evolution Trikes wing, not an option offered by A.C, that in itself is not the problem either. Where the problem is, the wing is a small fast wing, ( around 12 sqm ). Many pilots with lots of experience, come unstuck because they have been trained and are familiar with the larger wings, and where they have been able to get away with inputting large bank angles at low speed without coordinating the turn, the new generation wings will bite them, due to the higher wing loading. What is needed, is training with an instructor experienced with the new gen wings, and practice, practice, practice at recovery from a spiral dive (demonstrated beautifully by Henry in the back seat). The inputs need to be instinctive, because where the above scenario is most likely to happen is low altitude where you don't have time for the "oh shit what is it I do here again" moment. I am not in anyway suggesting that this is relevant to the accident being discussed here, and it is only my personal opinion. ( I am not an instructor) -

That last one in the U.S is starting to look like incorrect wing assembly. -

Although, not in Australia, here is another Pilot killed after ultralight aircraft crashes at Goleta apartment complex -
There are plenty of trikes fitted with them, usually across the frame under the motor. IMHO the times that they would be useful are rare, most accidents we hear about, have their beginnings when the trike is already at low level. By the time you realise your situation is not recoverable it's too late. Bird strike is probably the one where a BRS would be handy. If you make a habit of flying over tiger country, then maybe.......

Imho, of more importance than the carriage details, do we know which wing it was? -

You and me, we have something in common : can't quite get one thing finished before I think up another "brilliant" idea, and off we go again My wife tells me about it all the time Although your ideas may be somewhat more "brilliant" than mine -
The trike is not what you should be focusing on, "the wing is the thing". Some wings are definitely more forgiving in inexperienced hands, but you need to speak to your instructor about this.

A blonde heard that baths in milk would make her beautiful. She left a note for her milkman to leave 25 gallons of milk. When the milkman read the note, he felt there must be a mistake. He thought she probably meant 2.5 gallons. So he knocked on the door to clarify the point. The blonde came to the door and the milkman said, "I found your note asking me to leave 25 gallons of milk. Did you mean 2.5 gallons?" The blonde said, "No, I want 25 gallons. I'm going to fill my bathtub up with milk and take a milk bath so I can look young and beautiful again." The milkman asked, "Do you want it pasteurized?" Wait for it The blonde said, "No, just up to my tits ... I can splash it on my eyes if I need to!"

Jab 230 Accident South Grafton

But if he was on a conveyor belt........... -
One minute thirty eight seconds you'll never get back
-
Wait a while, until all the Jab owners realise the ramifications of the closure, and then set up a Crowdfunding thingo to get the guy going again. I would contribute, and I don't own one.
-
Simple, just buy 4 of these , hook one on each corner, by the time the batteries go flat you'll be finished in the spa, and the lids will go back on automatically ( disclaimer : I'm not an engineer.)
