  1. Tubs I live in the country also
  2. 440032 If it did we could rename it YBGV (Boganville) Cooee ain't a bad place
  3. Yep about 400k+ each new Between 250 & 350k usd 2nd hand I think I'll by 4 of them
  4. Old Cooee suits me fine for an airport Wouldn't have to go through the Monash car park much more also only about 1 1/2 hr drive to a major airport instead of 2 3/4 on a clear run
  5. Actually Frank No I haven been speaking to those people at all They are my observations on things I have seen from pilots in our organisation whom I'd hate to see in a CTA going by the standards that they fly in a non controlled environment As for the GA medical my thought on it is if they have to have it we should also as we will be sharing the same airspace I'm with you on the training for CTA, it should be of a high standard and not some willy nilly endorsement I try to be as professional as I can in my flying , ie thorough pre flights, latest weather, w&b, proper flight planning, flying correct hemispheres and so on for each flight I conduct I've seen many a time in my flying career in both RAA and GA pilots basically kick the tyres and light the fires attitude taking a passenger with them It dumbfoundes me how some can be so reckless in an environment that can be very unforgiving
  6. I think if we get CTA endorsement we should abide by the aviation medical standards as we will be up there playing with the big boys carrying fare paying passengers Unless of course CASA allows the commercial boys to fly under a drivers medical If we want to play with the big boys we should abide by there medical standards Quite frankly not a lot of us in our organisation are professional enough or disciplined enough to mix it with the big boys in my opinion Ok bring all the bashing on about my comment, I'm big enough and mature enough to wear it I've seen way too many cowboys flying in the RAA not that there is not cowboys in GA
  7. I had 2 oil pressure sender units from Rotax sent that were not the right ohm range which would make the oil pressure fluctuate Can't remember now what the vdo sender number was I think there are about 10 different ones out there from VDO with all different ohm ranges My advice is to borrow one off a mate who has a 912 to confirm it is not just the sender If it fixes it then look on his for the part number
  8. Franco That's my take on it also As to why? That will more than likely never be known to us mere plebs as no one ever tells us the findings Sooner the ATSB starts investigating RAA accidents the better in my opinion but that is highly unlikely due to budget constraints
  9. Bought a lot of stuff from Di at Punkin head over the years for my trikes and also my Tecnam The canopy cover is first class
  10. Only assumption I'm making is it hit the ground very hard going by the impact marks and where the aircraft ended up as photos don't seem to lie As to why it did this I'd never even consider the reason as no one will ever know for certain other than the deceased pilot
  11. Well robinsm Yes a pilot has passed which is sad When do you think we will find out the cause? ATSB won't be investigating so we won't know from them RAA hasn't released information on any past fatals that I know of including the fatality involving my previously owned trike a number of years back so I won't hold my breath waiting for that Maybe us armchair experts try to figure it out ourselves because no one else is going to tell us
  12. I agree with you pylon Paddocks don't usually have impact marks in them like that with without an aircraft near by
  13. Condolences to the lost brother and aviators immediate family and friends
  14. David, The more you wash and polish and be around your plane the better you be at finding anything out of the ordinary
  15. Way to go Scre80 'Tis a tad bit exciting your first very own aircraft I had a few trikes first which loved and cared for Had the Tecnam for just over 4 years and still to this day gives me a fuzzy feeling every time I see it, polish it, wash it Some things you just love to be around Enjoy, it only gets better
  16. Great lesson for all of us pmccarthy Thanks for sharing you experiences
  17. Saw Anne today at the Avalon air show in the YFT stall Asked her to pass on my regards to Peter for me
  18. In an emergency you can land anywhere basically. Question is was this an emergency?? Going by what Peter Harlow was writing it didn't seem so I'm not going to condone this pilot if it was genuine, my other question is was the pilot the owner of the aircraft, if it was a hire one and I was the owner I'd be pretty ticked off if it wasn't an emergency
  19. Benjamin You can run on avgas no problems but oil changes at 25 hrs and a gearbox rebuild at 600 if continuously on Avgas Run on premium u leaded oil changes can run out to 100hrs and gearbox rebuild at 1000 hrs I run solely at this time on Unleaded but do my oil changes at 50hrs in anycase
  20. No rudder to help will do that to you Get well soon Peter
  21. I don't know of any beaches in Victoria you can land on legally as most are crown land national parks French Island may be privately owned Be interesting to see if this Foxbat was privately owned by the pilot or a hire one Still not a smart thing to do in any case IMO
  22. Emergency landing huh, I'd like to see that Wonder why the public think we are cowboys Foxbat Pilot
  23. Also thank her for not saying it was a Cessna Thank goodness there is the odd journo out there that has some tact and class and some pride in how they report
  24. But it was still good reporting despite the A380 circuits
  25. Light plane crash at Traralgon Here is a decent unbiased non Cessna related report from someone in the local media about the incident/ accident
