NESMITH COUGAR - TWO- PLACE from Aircraft Spruce
-
The owner was on TV last evening and I believe did state he was demonstrating the aircraft to a prospective purchaser. Aircraft was insured.
-
Looks like this aircraft. http://aviationadvertiser.com.au/detail.php?id=4837 Caboolture based.
-
Was wondering why he hadnt popped up for some time. Think he said he had given flying away?
-
Saw Martin enquiring about entry to NZ for experimental aircraft??
-
I think Keith Page said somewhere on this site that they weren't looking at weight shift as there are already two bodies looking after this type. RAAus & HGFA.

AOPA calls on CASA for private pilot medical reform
ave8rr replied to a topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
I wouldn't expect a DAME to do a referral for nothing. I am sure if you had to go back to your GP to have a referral to a specialist he/she would charge another consultation fee. My wife works in General practice as a Practice Nurse and tells me that the Doctors hate doing medicals due the time it takes of both them and the Nurses beforehand. -
Agree Nev..And my last one was renewed on line. NO Face to Face. Are we the only country that has this ASIC system for Aviation and MSIC for maritime?
-
Face to Face..What will they think of next? Pilots should be exempt due the requirements/checks needed to get issued a Licence/Certificate. ASICS for airport workers Yes.

Remember also RAMPC is annually after age 65 whereas Class 2 is in most cases two yearly. Mike.. -

There have certainly been a number of RAAus accidents in the past few years where the PIC was getting on in years. Problem is we NEVER hear of the cause so will never know. -

Correct. I would of had to do all those tests from age 60. I Have a CPL and held a class 1 medical until age 60 but not needing the class 1, I have been doing class two for past 3 renewals. NO requirement for ECG or any of the other tests although DAME said he would do an ECG if blood pressure or other symptoms suggested he should. Mike. -
Rex aircraft losses a prop mid-flight
ave8rr replied to planedriver's topic in Aircraft Incidents and Accidents
Wont be good for Rex if CASA ground the fleet for checks? Metal fatigue? I hope they can locate retrieve the prop.. -
Hi Mike, will be good to see what they finally end up with. I am sure they are trying to make it as light on the pocket as possible. Will be Good to have some choice and MAY even have 750kg before RAAus. Cheers Mike

Thanks for the update Keith. What A/C Register will the aircraft operating under the ELAAA be using?
-
NZ also. SIDS are mandatory..

Replacement poll on RAA weight and CTA
ave8rr replied to Kyle Communications's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
Yes...GP medical required for RPL 1 pax. RAAus does NOT require a Dr's visit IF RPC holder holds a drivers licence so upgrading from RPC to RPL does require a Dr's medical every two years up to age 65 then yearly. -

Frank, you are probably right but maybe just maybe CASA gave RAAus a list of requirements of things that had to be in the new manual before it was submitted for approval so that it wouldn't be bounced back requesting required changes. Just a thought. -

But don't you require the heavy road transport medical (aviation) issued by a doctor for the RPL? Recreational Aviation Medical Practitioner's Certificate (RAMPC) Mike... -

I believe once a member has hit the button to vote they can't submit again. -
Simple. Allow the State police to hand over their Report to the ATSB for publication. ATSB seem to publish findings when asked for support by other parties e.g. RAAus, NZCAA and othe external agencies.

Replacement poll on RAA weight and CTA

With one serious and two fatal RAAus accidents in the past 10 days or so I doubt there will be much if any change to the existing rules in the short to medium term. -

Always liked the HB...Have plans but never started the project. Yes 28 lts P/H is high but can carry two in comfort with autopilot etc at cruise alts of 8-10 thousand with good baggage capacity. Three fuel stops between Bundy Qld and Kununurra WA. Mike -

Thread drift....This has nothing to do with Camit closing. Camit has closed and all parts / machinery disposed of..
