  1. Cheers m8, I,ll give you a yell when i can get up that way as long as it suits you of course, hopefully next week. cheers
  2. Absolutely agree m8, mine was just an example, Eyes outside more than in for sure, Just think people should be more precise with position calls. Cheers
  3. Absolutely right Roundsounds but i think Down under was referring to pilots joining crosswind through the the very middle of runway, I would never join crosswind beyond the departure threshold for the very reason you stated. But if I am near midfield on downwind and someone calls joining crosswind I am naturally going to start looking towards the departure threshold area, not 90 degrees to my immediate right.
  4. You would think it was laziness & not what they have been taught, With aircraft in the circuit area being in close proximity to each other that is not the time for vauge position reports. The last thing you need in the circuit is looking for someone where they say they are and not being able to find them because their crossing 200ft behind you on downwind.
  5. Yeh the Red demo model at Airventure was very impressive.
  6. Cheers, your a good m8 as always, and don't forget if you ever want that Sierra looked after for any extended period of time I,m happy to do it m8, would even give it plenty of exercise for you
  7. Hey guys, Anyone in the Qld Southeast in the process of building either a Sonex or Zenith601/650 & wouldn't mind someone popping in to check it out, Plenty of YouTube stuff on builds but would like to see one in the flesh. Cheers
  8. We attended all 3 days and the aircraft camping area we drive past was never close to being full, Saturday morning looked like more than previous day's but still plenty of room. I enjoyed the event overall, plenty of display aircraft on show compared to Narromine, I would like to see more involvement from kit suppliers with partial assembled kits on display, most of the vendors in main tent were mainly high-end avionics. But overall I enjoyed the event. Matt Halls display in the MSXR was amazing & gotta love the Warbird. Darling wife bought me a joyride in the Stearman, Awesome
  9. How does Ra-Aus get to have a vote regarding the regs of another division of aviation, Smells like a conflict of interest to me. I understand Ra-Aus not wanting GA to have lower medical standards as it may lower possible future Ra-Aus memberships but nothing good can come of sticking our noses in other people's business. We need to be promoting Aviation across the board, not making selfish desicions to feather our own nest. My opinion only.
  10. Hey CanMan, I recently got back into flying after a 28 year break, Got my GA ticket back in 85 then like you other life things got in the way. After a bit of messing around with CASA convincing them my license was still valid I did the conversion to Ra-Aus, Driver licence standard medical, cheaper to fly generally than GA. Get into it m8 & enjoy.
  11. Yeh we were happy to pay for parking, glad it's going towards something good, The guys getting traffic out were great, job well done. Matt Halls flight in the MSXR was awesome.
  12. Lol Dave's a very reasonable guy but me not having a x-country endorsement may cause him to say no
  13. Hey Neil, If you mean my avatar it's a Tecnam Golf from AirsportQld in Boonah, unfortunately not mine
  14. Whoops missed that Kiwi lol, Knew how to get there so didnt look there, Its not even hidden in the fine print so no excuse. Weather hopefully better toomorrow. cheers
  15. Carpark guy we spoke to today said something about the council but not sure.
  16. Ok warning all those flying in but what about those who didn,t or the general public, No mention of parking fees on website or on tickets, No big issue but nice to be told beforehand. Glad i got in early for members discounted tickets.☺
  17. Wow another case of the news reporting on a subject they know nothing about, Everyone knows aircraft dont have Flux Capacitors, It could only have been the failure of the Filangee that would cause that problem, I know its true cos Pheobe said so lol. (To those that have never watched Friends please disregard my post)
  18. That would be the Boneyard, plenty of youtube videos, amazing collection .
  19. Had my first close up look at the ME262 at RAF Cosford recently Phil, Awesome looking aircraft thankfully not used to it full potential.
  20. Great models Dom, Loved RAF Cosford Museum, was there on holidays just over a month ago. Cheers
  21. Checked the demonstrator at Narromine, Looks like a well engineered aircraft and should be fun to fly.I recall hearing a kit build time of 120 Hours, that may of been the time it took to put the demonstrator together for Narromine. Apart from drooling on it no other experiance with them. I believe its the same distributors based at Heck Feild Jacobs Well (GAP Aero)that sell the Sling models. The Sling & the Bushcat both from The Aircraft Factory in South Africa. cheers
  22. Danny once I,m overhead or close to it and have determined which runway is the active my radio call is " Boonah Traffic Tecnam 7433 is overhead at 2000ft looking to join crosswind for runway 22 Boonah" Then let down on dead side as you did and your join call is spot on. Next time your overhead in the Northern training area be sure to wave, I live in Kalbar just off the main street. Cheers.
