  1. Had a great flight yesterday at Boonah, 1 hour of circuit engine failure emergencies, Climb out, turn onto downwind, mid downwind, wheels 5 feet off runway on takeoff, Then electrical failure(nil flaps/trim) then circuit with the ASI covered. Good workout and managed to get the Golf back on the runway everytime without cheating(Power).
  2. welcome m8
  3. Well I am going to have stern words with all my Instructors, They convinced me all the training I paid for would get me through just about any flying emergency I might experience, but it turns out just a little Prayer will do. Have I been ripped off?
  4. Started at Latrobe Valley Aero Club in 1985 in a Cessna 172.

  7. Hey guys just a hypothetical question, If as a Private pilot you are employed by a company (But not specificly as a pilot)that is not in the Aviation industry but the Company owns an Aircraft can you as a private pilot fly members of that company on company related trips but still only get paid as a regular employee. I recall reading somewhere it was ok as long as the company is not involved in aviation as its primary role. cheers

  10. Ian this is a fantastic site and I have read many good post with some very good advice but m8 what you have posted here tonight is one of the most selfless acts done for the benefit of others, Depression is such a misunderstood illness suffered by many, Your admissions of what you have experenced have given me and I,m sure others a better understanding of what others are trying to deal with. Thanks for sharing and I wish you all the best. Cheers

  14. Fully agree with Yenn, Wouldn,t think twice about driving a car with a cold or feeling off but Flying adds that extra elements that makes the difference, Height and the extra workload of flying aircraft. Height comes with increased atmospheric pressure which can increase the normal effects of a cold or other ailments, Add the constant need for full concentration needed when flying its too easy to forget even something you would normally not forget. If your not fully on your game better to stay home & fly another day. Kudos again PM sharing these things could be the wakeup call others need . Cheers
  15. Thanks for sharing PM
  16. Glad they made it ok, planes a bit ordinary but walk away no injuries is always a good result.

  22. After seeing what these reckless fools did with tourists in an Aircraft I wouldnt expect them to be any less reckless in a boat. Delibrately unbuckling a seat belt then pushing enough negative Gs to unseat the girl is just plain reckless stupidity. Pulled thier AOC?, should have their licences pulled as well.
  23. OK Phil's back, now everyone calm the hell down, Welcome back Phil, You have been missed
