  1. That is a former trophy winner at Natfly I believe... beautiful machine. She was absolutely perfect when I saw her. Lucky bugger.
  2. Because of the "OH&S gone mad" white socks brigade they still do regularly. Last one I saw was outside a maternity ward.
  3. Absolutely it is. Don't buckle down to the imposition. If only more people had the balls to refuse this unreasonable requirement for private operations it might have gone away by now.
  4. "That's where I crashed." Harrison Ford is at the controls of his green-and-white Bell 407 helicopter, hovering above the Penmar golf course, where eight months earlier the 73-year-old actor crash-landed his vintage World War II plane shortly after takeoff.... 5. Still is an Aboriginal word. Always was...always will be. And that is Australian....although I reckon that is not what the Aboriginals called this land. I imagine they just called it home in whatever dialect they spoke. For me this is the sort of stuff that comes to mind on Australia Day...the past and it's ills. Personally until we can all celebrate it without a significant number of our first Australians feeling sick with pain and hurt I choose not to in solidarity.
  6. Not racist... Cultural Misappropriation. It's a thing.
  7. Nobody loves Aussie lamb more than me but that advert is bloody dreadful in my opinion. Certainly won't forget it so I guess it does it's job. I feel like lamb tonight now. Bugger.
  8. I would guess Oscar's relation was referring to the early Lancair 2.. series...which had a smaller elevator and other deficiencies?
  9. That is awesome. There is a BIG wave in flight automation coming...we either surf it or drown.
  10. I agree. We should honour all our lost aviators. Yours was a good suggestion.
  11. Were the delinquent sons of Mother England....
  12. I always imagined that was the reason for the Morgan Joey...trying to build a better KR?
  13. Chimp War ----> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gombe_Chimpanzee_War Dolphin Rape ----> The concept of the nobel and kind animal as opposed to the cruel and heartless human is old, illogical and false. Rather...mankind is the ONLY animal that can choose to act in a kind and caring way toward other sentient beings. It is true a lot of us don't and that is appalling...but we can...
  14. They aren't elegant eaters.... Pelican eats pigeon alive....
  15. Typical of the ignorant mindset that holds racist and bigoted views. Good on you.
  16. Ah...yes. But we've only just got started...
  17. It's an accepted fact. Your prejudices might not want to believe it but it just is. Sorry to burst your bubbles. Nature is not perfect....nor even particularly nice or good. Mankind is far superior.
  18. The best soaring birds have a glide ratio of no more than 20 to 1.
  19. I gave you an optimistic because you stated "Nature is almost invariably right about the best and most efficient way to go about things"... I am not sure this is true when talking aviation. It appears to me nature does what it can with what it has...but flying animals are not more efficient than aircraft. As an example...modern sailplanes are more efficient than soaring birds.
  20. Instant gratification. And after the months of building... re-kitting it on the first day out flying. lol My first RC aircraft was a Aeroflyte Super Trident (2.5 meter sailplane)... I actually lost it downwind on my 2nd or 3rd flight...never to be seen again. That was 30 years ago now. It must have taken me at least a month of afternoons and evenings to build it.
  21. I've seen it every single day of my working life... personally I don't fall for it.
  22. Received an early Xmas present... Specification: Length: 988mm/38.9in Height: 412mm/16.2in Weight: 1440g/50.8 oz Wing span surface: 23.6dm2 Wing span load: 61g/dm2 Took less than 40 minutes from this to having the airframe together...just have to add receiver and battery... Notice turbulators and leading edge droop in conjunction with flaps...it really is Beautiful shiny spinner...will set the three blade prop off nicely... And...it comes with a parachutist who drops out of a hatch underneath...also good for lolly drops (is that even legal!!!)
  23. Beeeeeautiful! Did you build from plans or kit?
