Hey, does anybody know how to access the live streamed (internet) coverage from natfly. Did it eventuate?. Did they cover any of the forums or was it to be just snapshot of the flightline etc.

Woody.

I had a good first day. Kicked it off with Ian's meeting of the forumites this morning - it was good to put names to faces. Probably around 70 members at a guess. I spent most of the day getting some photos around the site for promos. I managed to get some nice aerial shots from the ops room - too bad it was overcast, so I'm hoping the clouds disappear tomorrow. The aerobatic display was great to see too. The "meeting of the members" was well attended, and there were some pretty probing questions. Steve Runciman stood out as he presented the latest financials and said a few words about the confidentiality agreement.

PS If only my netbook were running the right software for my SLR to interface:crying:

Well I have received one piece of news, that the President, Eugene Reid asked Captain to leave the meeting on the grounds that he was not a financial member, when his licence clearly indicates he is.

Eugene, I think all 9600 of us would like to know what the hell is going on, what investigation is going to take place, who is going to be fired and a public apology to all members for this undemocratic conduct.

I've just returned home from Temora after a very enjoyable day . The weather was perfect for flying , clear skies , with light winds and great vz, bad news for me was that I drove down !! ..

I managed to meet up with Ian and his Dad in the " matrimonial marquee " , well that's what Ian said it was , and chatted for a short while , during which time I bought two T shirts with " Grandads little co-pilot " logo emblazoned for my grandsons , one of which is exactly 11 days old , you can't start too young in this game ..

The general consensus seems to be that the numbers were down a little this year compared to last . I thought the visiting aircraft numbers appeared to be about the same . One area that impressed me was the organisation this time around . Temora Council should be congratulated for their efforts in making this event so much more professional and the attention to detail particularly in the catering was very good . I also thought the trade presentations were well situated and localised. If the attendees were down then at least the local Council are not to blame , you can't force people to turn up .

I'm a little perturbed re Eugene Reids attitude towards a member .. I do not get involved in politics at any level , however , if what I read is fact , then quite clearly an apology should be forthcoming ..

Cheers..

Dave C

We should be getting some about now

Well.....typing.gif.6480b8333d5a827991c46cf7c4016332.gif after two bouts of solenoid chatter :blink:and a couple of “start pretty pleases”038_sweat.gif.5ddb17f3860bd9c6d8a993bf4039f100.gif, the rotoraxe howled into life :cheezy grin:and the child bride and I taxied out and departed north for battlefield Temora. 080_plane.gif.36548049f8f1bc4c332462aa4f981ffb.gif

The flight over was smooth as the Riverland lass’ left one with just a few bumps here and there to keep us both awake. Flipped the talky box to Temora CTAF at 25 miles to nut out what the traffic was like and crossed fingers. The circuit was busy as expected :freaked:and there were a couple of inbound calls from traffic to the North and East. Unicom was sorting them out with aplomb  and although one go around was called, it sounded like getting in was going to be a milk run. high_5.gif.95ee4a47273086425b8f5a9eab7ee024.gif

Called twelve miles and started setting up for a leisurely decent 024_cool.gif.7a88a3168ebd868f5549631161e2b369.gif and downwind entry for runway 23. Leisurely that is until Unicom advised a couple of minutes later that inbound traffic should expedite or expect a twenty minute holding :sad:owing to an exhibition flight that was pending. Time to rattle a few rivets and haul as:bye:s!.

“Beercan on final for red parking”gleam.gif.61a3085bab2441797a6de7bfc35070cb.gif a few minutes later, followed by a spine numbing thump 025_blush.gif.9304aaf8465a2b6ab5171f41c5565775.gif announced that we had arrived - Fire rescue were taking bets that we’d been shot down by the Stearman... Then there was this bloke waving his arms wildly like he was daring us to mow him into the grass, 076_joystick.gif.1d2ed07889352a966338f6390696faff.gif but we eventually worked out that he was one the ground crew so rather than hit him, we stopped just as the colour began to leech from his face. In all truth, the groundies were great in providing clear directions and a friendly welcome with a safety brief on arrival.

Expecting to see clumps of bloodied rat fur blowing about the field and an effigy in bespangled uniform hanging from the windsock with a membership fee receipt jammed up its ginger 065_evil_grin.gif.2006e9f40863555e5894f7036698fb5d.gif, we were a bit disappointed by its absence :frusty:, so headed off for the static display area to find a rebel forumite to find out how good the rumoured stoush poking.gif.62337b1540bd66201712a53e2664c9b4.gif really had been……

That's not correct. One of the last items on the agenda was two questions without notice from Geoff. I think Eugene queried whether he was a current member and said words to the effect "This is an RA-Aus members' meeting, so if you're not a member you need to leave." Geoff responded he was a member and after a little discussion amongst the Board members it was decided that he could ask his questions.

However, I don't know why in the first place that Geoff's membership status was queried. Like David C, I'm a bit perplexed too why this happened.

... found the RecFlying tent pretty quick  and grabbed an emergency locator gizmo to keep the cottonwool commandos at bay and then set out seeking alleged dissidents, but it was soooo easy to get distracted by the aeroporn on display! Eventually found a certain rodent drooling over the Carbon Cub and not looking all that worse for wear. He said that ******** had been a ****** and that ***** needs a ****** session with a **** and that he wants to have Turbz's love child.... or something along those lines.059_whistling.gif.a3aa33bf4e30705b1ad8038eaab5a8f6.gif

That carbon cub is truly a good looking beast of a thing :drool:and seems to consider having to use a takeoff roll as optional! The Piper sport / sportscruiser looks the duck's nutz, but I thought I'd best not pay too much attention to them, or the Sportstar max, lest the beercan get jealous and chuck a hissy fit. Oh, and there might have been a few other types there as well...071_yawn.gif.43c7f5f86675fec124ffe33bd2e896f0.gif

..That's not correct.

Hey Burbs...since when have I let the truth get in the way of a yarn? 033_scratching_head.gif.b541836ec2811b6655a8e435f4c1b53a.gif

Where'd I get up to, ...oh yeah. As DaveC says, the crowd looked a bit sparser than last year's and the head count was definitly down by a couple of million as the locusts decided to give it a miss this year as well. The food court is a great innovation :clap:but search as I did, I couldn't find the grog tent or D(bloody)Isaacs for love nor money 053_no.gif.1b075e917db98e3e6efb5417cfec8882.gif. (a phone call has sorted that out and we're on for a session of bulldust and pick nitting Sunday instead. 014_spot_on.gif.1f3bdf64e5eb969e67a583c9d350cd1f.gif )

Departure from TEM was orderly and well orchestrated with the ground crew and Unicom cell.gif.0ffa74af2505389b1021b01bc3378cd2.gif shooting us out rapid fire. What was disconcerting :hide:though was playing 'where'd the plane in front of us go' 034_puzzled.gif.ea6a44583f14fcd2dd8b8f63a724e3de.gif on departure. The beercan isn't the fastest things on two wings, nor a stellar climber, so I've not had to drop the nose to find the leading aircraft before - I really thought Jabs went harder?! blink.gif.7ee21b69ed31ab2b1903acc52ec4cc3f.gif Otherwise, the trip home was pretty straight forward and highlighted by the sweet aroma of burning stubble paddocks :yuk:and a included a bonus game of we'rethefarquarwie wtf.gif.98144920f830741b92569ef3d0e64f88.gif in the haze. Would have gone IFR but there's not too many B-doubles to follow 039_private_eyes.gif.ee730e198261239d6248af84b953d95f.gif out in the boonies.

All in all, a great day 012_thumb_up.gif.cb3bc51429685855e5e23c55d661406e.gif and the child bride's first fly-in, but as for a serious political report ..... 052_no_way.gif.ab8ffebe253e71283aa356aade003836.gif not from this little black duck...063_coffee.gif.b574a6f834090bf3f27c51bb81b045cf.gif

First Easter Goose award would have to go to the person who flew a Jabiru through the box while an Extra was doing aerobatics at Parkes in the Australian National Aerobatics Championships.

Not good..................I once ferried a new Lightwing through Chinchilla when the Aerobatic championships were to be on. Worried a great deal about how I was going to make an airfieild approach, with the aerobatic box overhead. On arrival at altitude, not an aircraft in sight on the ground !. It had been postphoned till the following weekend !!.....yehaa !............Maj...

David,

Just to correct a little and explain a bit further, my questions were an Agenda Item (# 7) and while I did not submit full details of the issues I do not believe that they were strictly "without notice". As you know, there was also a final separate item to allow further questions from the floor, after the close of Agenda'd items.

The RA Aus was happy for my Agenda Item to go forward to the meeting in the terms that it did.

I submitted that Agenda Item on 28th March and included my membership number in that original request, and in all subsequent exchanges with the Secretary.

So almost 4 weeks were available for RA Aus to check my financial status and, I assume, all who submitted Agenda Items (which a well & competently managed organisation would do as a matter of course before a public Meeting of Members). No attempt was made to call me up to the front table to check my membership status during the lead-up to the meeting or during the 60 - 90 minutes of the meeting, which competent management would surely do if it was still in doubt. I am therefore having trouble not arriving at a very cynical conclusion about why an attempt was made to silence me immediately before my Agenda Item was called on.

My recollection is that the President said words to the effect of "I am advised that you are not a member and you should not be here at a Meeting of the Members, so you should leave the meeting."

Regards Geoff

Now, should I start with letting everyone know about the goings on at Camp David...perhaps we wait till this saucy bit of info can be used at a later date 037_yikes.gif.f44636559f7f2c4c52637b7ff2322907.gif022_wink.gif.2137519eeebfc3acb3315da062b6b1c1.gif
