  1. ....and for your information a Lighthouse is one made of cardboard. Alan.
  2. .....or dropping table tennis balls into the bath whilst overflying with converging lights under the Lanc and blowing up the taps at the end. Alan.
  3. Next project a two seater with the passenger in the rear facing backwards (back to back with the pilot) Alan.
  4. I agree about the engine failure but I recon that I would have had heart failure. Alan.
  5. He owns an aircraft so he is entitled to be a 'Capitalist' Alan.
  6. So did he land on the mains then gradually drop his Tail Nose wheel and taxi in backwards. Stone the crows!!! Is that a tail dragger or a nose pusher. Alan.
  7. Welcome to the Forum it is good to have overseas contributors. Kenya please send some photos.. Alan.
  8. Congrats on your successful flight, I know that you will enjoy your Supa Pup which, like Piper Cubs and Austers should last for many years. I did hear your shouting but I have a bit of a sore throat so I was probably shouting back on the wrong frequency. Alan.
  9. Give us a call when you reach 2,000ft on your first flight.....just a loud Yeehah!! will do as I shall probably hear you from my house north of Adelaide. Alan.
  10. Well I really did get a brand new plane plus some rough sawn veranda posts which will need smoothing. Alan.
  11. As far as I am aware there was only one type of Supa Pup Mk 4 or Mk1V whatever you preference and they all had the folding wings. I am unaware of two variants but I could be wrong. Alan.
  12. Stone the crows, that's a photo of me!!! I was the ground marshal at our fly-ins. Alan.
  13. Have flown a Supa Pup Mk1 and owned the Supa Pup Mk2 and Mk4 but all with two stroke engines; they are very easy to fly and very predictable. If you have ever flown a Piper Cub you will have no problems with your Supa Pup. I know that it was a typing error but please don't attempt to fly your ' SUPAPUB' Alan.
  14. I am very jealous of all your 'ground looping' exploits and very disappointed that in all of my flying including many tail wheel aircraft I have never ground looped so I have not been able to get my 'groundabatics' endorsement. Now that I cannot fly anymore I am having to swing on my trusty Hills Hoist. . Alan.
  15. We used to do pylon racing at our airfield back in those good old days, however, the only pylons was the windsock and a tree. We could only do the course circuit three times as it took 45 minutes to complete one circuit. ' Alan.
  16. My wife still has two lights on the headboard of our bed, green light is Clear to land and the red one is for Runway out of action do not approach. Alan.
  17. I believe that any stall warning device has its merits however, during stall training it is good to be able to switch off the audible warning which gets louder and louder and often stresses out the student as he or she waits for the impending drop out of the sky. A quiet stall is much more relaxing. The same applies to a first time deliberate spin entry. Just my opinion. Alan.
  18. Stone the crows people, only three members appreciated my warped sense of humour, didn't you see the extra large tongue in cheek at the end. Alan.
  19. I know exactly what happened to this engine but I am not telling you until my 'theory' has been proved. . Alan.
  20. Plenty of head room indeed, but you would have to fly from the rear cockpit or you would hit your head on the upper wing. . Alan.
  21. My two most basic aircraft were the Tyro and the Swing Wing but I still did a verbal check list as if I was flying a Beechcraft A36, it just about covered any aircraft that I was liable to fly and I never forgot the list. Alan.
  22. Hi Henry, are you still flying out of Gawler? Alan.
  23. Don't worry about the lumps, did that marshal manage to stop the aircraft with those two sticks before it hit him? . Alan.
