My last flight, well it is the title of the forum😂 I hate being a pax, (especially with an 18 month old kid sitting on mums lap next to me screaming!) I feel like a fish out of water!🙁 Miserable WX in SY today!

Mangalore incident today (19/2/2020)
Flightrite replied to biggles's topic in Aircraft Incidents and Accidents
The chances of colliding mid-air would be so remote it’s hard to believe this even happened. I still can’t believe CG is gone😞 such a tragic accident which shook up so many of us in those circles😞 -
It’s actually common knowledge (to those within the inner circle) that CASA want to hand over the control of GA up 1.5t as I mentioned earlier but the hype of .76t as become the main focus.

That’s what the set up I used to be involved with was, not so much a free swinging axe but an axe head of sought captured in a guide frame, then being belted with a mash hammer, we used to simulate it and it actually worked quite well.
-
The ‘axe’ comment reminded me of the days towing targets for the Navy in an old PA31. The ‘axe’ was placed in a specially built frame suspended over the cable, should the cable winch fail or the target was shot up by the Navy gunners ( whom I might add never once hit the target😂😂) and couldn’t be safely reeled in then a large mash hammer chained to said frame was used to belt the crap out of the cable!😂 Footnote: with the target extended the old PA31 would descend at around 500fpm on one donk at combat power! Great times, many years ago now👍

There sure has been some ugly A/C over the years!😂

Easy fix. I put all my fuel Caps on my seat until they are needed to fill the hole/s in the wing, pain in the ass it is ………BUTT😂 Had one left of my A320 many years ago, got a message from ATC b4 we lined up, fuel guy has yr cap in his truck!
-
CAsA would love to offload the burden of GA to RAAus up to 1500 kgs, but most of us here will be worm food b4 it becomes reality!

Not a good spot to be sitting in there!

I was over in sheep shaggers country recently and spotted the old Convair, still operational for Chatham’s but the gas man said they are retiring them, going jet!

It’s odd to see some cockpits set of for R/H seat Ops SP, I just don’t get that? some plane drivers really struggle to handle a plane in CMD from the L/H drivers seat, weird! -
Too many😉 Gotta keep the aviation industry going😉

30psi for most applications. I’ve tried 25 to 45 on all my machines, it’s a compromise but I operate off grass most of the time.

Ra-Aus MTOW 760kg. what aircraft would you favour?
Flightrite replied to danny_galaga's topic in Aircraft General Discussion
Every planes is a trade off. Mission is the first consideration then price. RA does offer options if you are solely driven by price. I’m not a fan of Jabs (dog ugly to me) but I do operate a few of their donks but my preference is metal anyday👍 Old school still does the job👍The higher weight which will ultimately go to 1500kg is a plus for many.
