    That corny saying ‘in the good old days’ fits well with BDV these days! Went there numerous times in the 80’s, we were all so pissed with bodies lying everywhere that nobody remembers anything other than everything was free other than food and race entry! like most things in Australia, stupidity from certain morons destroy the fun factor due pure greed.

    The lift vector is no longer acting against gravity, the A/P will manipulate the elevator in order to create zero lift in any direction. Look at the recent China B737 that was captured on video going vertically down, my guess in that case was the plane was being manipulated, pilot suicide! In the stunt the same input is being created.

    I heard a new 915 is just short of $60K! Ouch! An engine doesn’t know it’s close to TBO, don’t mention it to the donk and keep flying😉

    How did we ever survive pre digital when GA was flourishing? I use both OZ & AV, both have their advantages but to me OZ is simpler if flying grass roots, AV much better for IFR planing etc. Driving heavy metal OCTA into Ctafs is a risk, an acceptable risk, this event has been hyped up a fair bit I reckon!

    The most tragic part about this event is that it didn’t need to happen!😞 I feel for the pax, they had no say in their demise😞. Sadly it will happen again😞

    My last flight, well it is the title of the forum😂 I hate being a pax, (especially with an 18 month old kid sitting on mums lap next to me screaming!) I feel like a fish out of water!🙁 Miserable WX in SY today!

    I emailed MB airport to confirm their Ldg fees for non VH registered aircraft (sport registered aircraft, her words), the girl highlighted, in yellow $545! WTF? You would rather crash outside the airport boundary if ya lost ya donk than glide into that grubby corrupt joint!

    Was just looking at YMMB’s website for access charges etc as I WAS considering flying into there for personal reasons, not now! Talk about raping GA!

    The chances of colliding mid-air would be so remote it’s hard to believe this even happened. I still can’t believe CG is gone😞 such a tragic accident which shook up so many of us in those circles😞

    It’s actually common knowledge (to those within the inner circle) that CASA want to hand over the control of GA up 1.5t as I mentioned earlier but the hype of .76t as become the main focus.

    That’s what the set up I used to be involved with was, not so much a free swinging axe but an axe head of sought captured in a guide frame, then being belted with a mash hammer, we used to simulate it and it actually worked quite well.

    The ‘axe’ comment reminded me of the days towing targets for the Navy in an old PA31. The ‘axe’ was placed in a specially built frame suspended over the cable, should the cable winch fail or the target was shot up by the Navy gunners ( whom I might add never once hit the target😂😂) and couldn’t be safely reeled in then a large mash hammer chained to said frame was used to belt the crap out of the cable!😂 Footnote: with the target extended the old PA31 would descend at around 500fpm on one donk at combat power! Great times, many years ago now👍
