  1. Ah there was no 's' in your original post, you must spell it out in full!???
  2. I use aerosol INOX quite a lot, good stuff?
  3. They are collectors items these days! Mostly found down the tip once upon a time! Jet A1 was the best fuel for the old kero heaters?
  4. DAH = Designated Airspace Handbook HLS = Helicopter Landing Site Everyone happy now???
  5. U/L = unlicensed? Or unfortunetly lost ( seeing as it's in ref to remote)????
  6. Sorry apparently we don't accept abbreviations here it's not the 'custom'?
  7. In another life I used to be a mot mech, the carbon build-up on the valves sometimes was amazing! I was surprised any gases got thru!
  8. Gotta luv OzRwys, don't know how we ever found our way many years ago!??
  9. Yes the CTAF would have been the last location for such a call unless in the circuit and knowing of people who are monitoring same. When people are under duress logic can go out the window!
  10. I have to agree. A pilots biggest fear is fire whilst inflight, land ASAP, glad they survived that frieghtening exoerience!
  11. Same here, never smoked, could never understand that mentality! Gotta love the corny adds with Hoges & Strop in them, real characters!?
  12. The Rotax machine I fly reg (not mine) uses around 23 LPH & 5200 rpm, I plan 24 and that works. Not sure what the fuel usage is at full power as you don't get pull power at t/off and I don't like the sound of the beast WOT level flight!
  13. All true, I wouldn't recommend the Airlines these days, it's just a job afterall more a trade than anything else!
  14. Pre the CV19 BS most of yr run of the mill Airline narrow body Capt drivers where getting $200-250 per hr. For the training/study and the forever risk of not being able to fly at the drop of a hat meant it's not that well a paid job especially when you take into account the responsability and the uncertainty the Airline business brings. The best advice for anyone contemplating such a risky career is habe a plan B!
  15. Cost, mass production, clientele are just some of the reasons why manuafacturers stick to well proven affordable designs that they know the masses will purchase. If it where easy to achieve those numbers then we wouldn't be having this conversation.
  16. I accept the costs, it's the cost of doing business so to speak to be able to fly within the constraints of RA (originally set up to keep flying being simple and affordable, at a cost) and to fly GA with a full licence with little restrictions. It's all about choice, it's not ideal but it's a choice.
  17. Oh that brings back memories, like I mentioned earlier the Boneparte Archipelago is an amazing coast line!? The Pince Regent River is spectacular as well especially at Cascade Falls (not so lovely for the American tourist Ginger taken by a croc)
  18. V1 is OCTA, you turn up, remain in VMC @ 500 above the Sharks spit out the required call/s and enjoy the ride?
  19. Interesting read? For an A/C that looks rather basic/ordinary it sure is slippery?
