Many airfields charge an annual access fee for aircraft based there. This is on top of hangar lease fees, which go to the hangar owner. Do you pay an access fee and if so, how much? Are there discounts available for certain situations or voluntary airfield maintenance? Thanks, Peter

The published pre takeoff checklist for my Foxbat has about 50 items in it. I would like to whittle it down to ten or so. Otherwise I just skim the list and could miss something. My Archer list is much shorter.

I have a Garmin GLO2 GPS which bluetooths to my ipad and improves the GPS accuracy. Now I have obtained a Skyecho 2 which connects to the ipad by Wifi. Is the Garmin now redundant because my ipad gets its location from the Skyecho?

That is a perfect example of the problem. We should learn from our omissions but not beat ourselves up over them

That would work for the Bush Mechanics. Shellac is made from crushed beetles, and they are already carrying the metho.

Considerations in Engine Cowl Design
pmccarthy replied to skippydiesel's topic in Aircraft Building and Design Discussion
Going from the Foxbat to the Vixxen they claimed increase in cruise from 85-90 kts to 110-115 kts with the same wing and engine, just cleaning up the fuselage and drag, with a lot of research. -
When the windmill stops.

OME I call this nonsense. Are you arguing that the glide time before impact depends on the wind direction? Nonsense. -
Proboscis would be my choice.

When the windmill stops.

Surely where you are headed will always trump how far you can glide. No good gliding further to land in a forest. So wind influences your decision as to where you can get to, but that may be up- down- or cross- wind. -
If you have the aircraft details already in OzRunways then submitting a flight plan is just check the details and click.

I flew out of Kyneton yesterday (Sunday) about 10.30am but most cloud was at 550ft AGL and I climbed through a large hole to the north heading for Bendigo but it just got worse so turned around and landed, put the plane away.

There was a story some years ago about someone flying up Cape York who nearly became unconscious due to dehydration. -

I flew into Albury for the first time recently and could easily have made the same mistake. -

This Badelf GPS is about to join my museum drawer of useless objects. It has the old style Apple plug. Is there any conceivable use for it?

Another stall spin crash (usa)
pmccarthy replied to Thruster88's topic in Aircraft Incidents and Accidents
I have seen flies sit on top of my wing for an hour, then fly away after I landed. -
