  1. Myself I regularly check the asi info and compare to GNs in flight and more so in turbulence. Before joining down wind and in the circuit I reference the asi. By this I mean I don't watch it and chase the numbers; but just a scan glance to see the numbers and adjust my target depending on the flying weight (eg solo or two up and amount of luggage and the strip condition sealed / grass or a rough unknown road or property). I also ensure my asi is calibrated at annual inspection. Cheers
  2. Nice to see they have Zulu headsets. I am happy with my sets. Thanks for the posts.
  3. Looking at changing out the JayCar dual usb 5v outlet in my panel as get some noise at times that stops when I pull out the USB then will come back later when plugged in. Would like to fit a unit that fits the usual car type cigarette outlet size. Has anyone purchased and used with success a unit. Thanks in advance.
  4. Changed out the remaining two radiator hoses to 25mm id silicone elbows and replaced the coolant so a quick 36 minute lap around the block to check the hoses are secure and coolant level correct. A little bumpy as down at 1,500 feet. Nice otherwise so now ready for a bit of a trip. Also trying the Gopro on the super wide angle setting. 1894114933_26July2022.mp4
  5. I remember when a mate refuelled the Antonov at Rockhampton (delivering the Singapore equipment a few years back) and when asked they said another 25,000 thanks. Forget the actual amount. Did see her through the fence one night and it was huge.
  6. Refuelled at Gove years ago, an Indonesian fishing vessel was ahead of us on the fuel wharf and we would have liked to pay their price as we paid aussie price and they were untaxed being international vessel.
  7. Up here at least 400 to 600 litres is a lightish fuel load. My 17 has a 200 litre tank and its a shocker to fill.
  8. BrendAn really need more details like image of the filter attachment area, what brand filter was fitted, how many hours in service, who fitted it and how; to name a few.
  9. Pay $1150-00 per year, $1,000 is maintenance fee and $150- mowing account. We maintain a 700 meter bitumen strip and have insurance cover for the group. Hangars are owned.
  10. Plus need to come to a carry through member and on this model its where the undercarriage main legs are. Skyfox is an example where the carry through tube was found to be insufficient and certain models required an additional carry through tube fitted.
  11. Also the filters thread could have been incorrect sizing.
  12. Reports now saying its out as of 45 minutes ago. Next question out there is how long before she fly's again.
  13. Yes, my poor spelling. Yes the talking aloud their check points is a noted safety improvement; did the course 20 years ago but one of many beneficial learnings. Unable to edit. Thanks and cheers.
  14. Sling High Wings From Joburg To Oshkosh And On... - Sling Aircraft Blog Will be a great flight and blog to follow. A mate shared the info.
  15. That is always good, I have the usual responses and their meaning as a placard above and to my left as a reminder; as I'm not using them all the time and in an effort to give the correct reply. Regarding my comment on saying my checklist when solo, this was something I took away from an investigations training course with ATSB in Canberra, worth a visit if you can. The saying of checklists has one origin from Japanese Rail train conductors to prevent compliancy with procedures. Cheers
  16. I'll try another 1 degree up. At present can keep nose up with full back stick; however sometimes don't get stick to full back.
  17. Hi PM send a message with your email and I'll send a copy of my checklists that you can edit for your needs / aircraft. I find it helps me when flying solo I usually talk the checks and when have a passenger just read quietly (else they might think I'm a nutter.)
  18. Not looked there; this is the site https://www.facebook.com/groups/3dprintedaircraftsparts/
  19. Had to get up the other end of 2,000 meters otherwise a long taxi. Cheers Sorry I missed yourself and RF as continually distracted catching up with friends hadn't seen since 2017.
  20. This will give a idea, cross wind from left and felt a little as down below tree line. Nynja landing ASI by Mike.mp4
  21. Yes, one of the members on the 3D printing facebook site is sending the data for a stronger 3 piece one he makes. I'll arrange to get two of those printed. Are you on that site as you will see the program when he sends it. Cheers
  22. Trimmed for 46kts. I'll did out a video that shows the ASI during landing later today or tonight. All comments no worries. The long grass on side of strip has a negative effect at the flare round out height as you are in the wind effect shadow; similar to tress and hangars that disturb the wind. Cheers
  23. I've never seen this; however on landing and with speed decayed under flying speed the nose wheel won't stay up with full up elevator; most likely due to the wing tanks being on the cg. Other builds with the fuel behind the seats have more weight aft so easily maintains the nose wheel off.
