Anyone built a Teenie Two?
spacesailor replied to Geoff_H's topic in Aircraft Building and Design Discussion
Geoff Just a thought! . IF you want to ' polish ' your Hummel , please try out your ' arm ' power on mine. LoL How about a ' dark colour undersides ' with that sparklingly polished uppersides. Then when making your circuit those wings will flash a signal to all us ' wannabes ' waching .. spacesailor -
Not everyone will buckle down to a law , they don't like. I refused to wear a motorcycle helmet. SO, I had to give away my sport. Fifty years later I squashed my head I to a helmet, And had an enjoyable day on the dirt & across the river . spacesailor

Yes. I too walked away , with a very pronounced limp . But the airline ' insisted ' I use the provided ' wheelchair ' ! Or , there was No way to get from A to B before the air craft departed, hence the call to " hold the aircraft " as my assistant pushing me couldn't make it as well , in the time allocated . spacesailor PS , I also had a paraglide in Turkey, With my " Ho-So painfully hip,

Security!. I waked 'to ' my international ( many years before hip ) checkin, wearing a ' life vest ' complete with knife ' before staff decided I couldn't have the knife. It was put in a very large paper bag to go into the hold . & I retrieved it from NZ Security in nz. spacesailor

My spies tell me Jabiru has been sold
spacesailor replied to Kyle Communications's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
Just by . one litre = one kg = 140 litres of fuel . At 6 litres per hour , it equates to a loong full day's flying in my " Hummel bird " . LoL ( 22 hours ) spacesailor -
I go one up on that . Before my new hip , I was ' ushered & pushed around & through the international airport ' . Like a " KING " . They were even calling the ' Air-traffic controllers ' to hold a minute . And I couldn't believe there were more than a dozen passenger's in 'wheelchairs. For that one flight . spacesailor

Mechanics ! . Diagnosed a broken " valve spring " as " hole in the head " ..Nrma couldn't get a wheel off a " Commadore sedan ". Next doors Mazda had multiple flashing lights that didn't make sense on the ' obd2 unit ' so mechanic said , " it needs a new motor " . Actually needed NEW BATTERY TERMINALS. spacesailor -
My spies tell me Jabiru has been sold
spacesailor replied to Kyle Communications's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
But they Do fail ! . The ' hand ' fell off my ' altimeter ', ( possibly children's fingers overturned a knob ) . also a double temp gauge stopped working on one side only , but is it a serviceable gauge for a single cylinder . spacesailor -

Bluetooth to a mobile phone or tablet will surprise most oldies here. I was shown a " Samsung Galaxy " phone ready to connect to the paired aircraft . So if someone steals that aircraft how will it be flown without its instruments. That are at home with the pilot . spacesailor -

But ' pilots ' Are passengers, With their. " ASIC " identification . Is it illegal to wear the card , when Not the current pilot . spacesailor

Anyone built a Teenie Two?
spacesailor replied to Geoff_H's topic in Aircraft Building and Design Discussion
This old builder has one AND a half Hummel Birds with plans I bought a kit HB & started to build a ' skinny ' one with solid rivets , but my hip replacement, then a fall breaking my arm , stopped any work ( terrible four letter word ) , even my prop chopping stopped. I'm not certain if I will get to a ' working builder ' again , as everything is on top of me. I'm pushing 1 one kilo weight up by this damaged arm . To gain more strength. One kilogram.! LoL spacesailor -
Looks like a , ' rearward-chock ' is required for the ' hight impaired pilot ' . Better than a ' cushion ' . spacesailor

Anyone built a Teenie Two?
spacesailor replied to Geoff_H's topic in Aircraft Building and Design Discussion
Yes The HB is built with either the Learner's wheel at front or taildrager . You can reverse the mains to the ' nose/tail ' wheel, After you master take-off's & landings . But You need to rebuild the tail section for the strength & steering, then Your C of G needs adjusting, it can be built FAT , TALL or even standard. LoL Now going with a different motor a ' V twin predator 22 hp ' , than the Old VW . spacesailor -

Hydrogen-powered 'flying car' to be used in emergencies
spacesailor replied to red750's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
That ' caraboat ' , Sits on a ' registered trailer ' plus, possibly marine rego to boot. So has to be a ' litte ' more expensive to own . A house-boat on a trailer will be the same cost . But a small ' trailer yacht ' does Not need marine registration. And you sleep on the trailer if you want to stop rocking & rolling . A motorhome , only has road registration . spacesailor -
