    Hi David yeah ,just found that out ,still a newbie in aviation,still a lot to learn Craig was trying to keep the engine alive by use of throttle ,i just used my words ,didnt want to confuse , cheers Gareth

    HI we were told it had its 100 hourly recently(32 hrs ago?) and Maj there is no aux fuel pump its a high wing(gravity fed?) as for all your other possibilities i and Craig cannot comment ,we dont know enough about Rotax engines and you do Trust the flying School when they hire out their planes .Dazza flew 7200 last wed all was ok then only time and examination will tell!! till hell freezes over thats not about to happen!! cheers gareth

    Hi Dazza Craig and i would also like to know that but it seems that "it was an unfortunate incident) and nothing will be done ,unless you are deceased there will be no investigation as to the cause of engine failure it is a insurance job and they wont spend the money on that!! Cheers gareth

    hi dazza Craig and his daughter are both ok, Craig suffered a lower back injury but only bruising NOW to get the facts right Craig was cruising at approx 100 knots when Rotax engine coughed a number of times ,Craig feathered engine but would not maintain revs then engine stopped ,fuel cocks were open and plenty of fuel radioed in to Dave and dave said to make sure that fuel was on ,by this time Craig had tried to restart engine IT WOULD NOT START he told his daughter the emergency procedures and he then looked for a suitable emergency landing spot and was at approx 1500 ft ,he was over heavy timber but located a spot and went in did the mayday calls but as he got lower he was heading for dam did a turn to the grassy area and cleared a fence and landed albiet downhill,applied brakes but at near the end of the field a drop off of 3 mtres dumped and undercarraige gave up, skidded into a tree and punctured wing tank ,his daughter quickly left and he exited the right hand door(left hand was jammed ) .I have been to the crash site with Craig and you can see the landing marks in the grass ,he did an incredible job in getting it down and not sustaining any injuries WELL DONE CRAIG Cheers gareth

    Hi John still building the wings a very long tedious job,the weather is USUALLY good but hey it has to rain sometime up here the runway 22 at Boonah has cracks the size of small ravines it need rain Badly. cheers gareth

    Hi all here are a few picks of the wing /strut build for the sierra the beam jig to hold the strut and the simple adjuster to set the washout aileron horn alum wing walk/step flap,aileron cables through no 7 rib and fuel line flap and aileron fitted alum 30 litre tank tank vent pipe through to wing tip control horn through flap skin(bkt is internal fixed to rib) the alum tank and wing walk plate with stiffeners weight came to 7 kilos,offset that is less fuel ie less weight next is to skin cheers all Gareth & CRaig
