Certainly looks like a fun machine. I don't think I'd fit.

Cockpit built from LEGO! (which could use your help)

Is that a double cup holder on each side? -
Alea jacta est! (All my latin is from Asterix comics)

That guy should buy a lotto ticket, just in case it's a run of incredibly good luck.

Can't wait til you get the rest of the aircraft built too!! 😁 -
Haven't seen this before. Pilatus PC-24 doing a landing and takeoff at the Vale airstrip in Sheffield, Tassie. Australia Day this year, by the looks of it. https://www.facebook.com/The-Vale-Farm-and-Airstrip-106232996137062/

I reckon C and D go backwards.

Hornet STOL with Aeromomentum AM15 147HP
Marty_d replied to Kyle Gardner's topic in Aircraft Building and Design Discussion
Really nice Kyle! Jeez you've worked quickly. Well done on getting so much accomplished. "STOL Devils" huh! 😄 -
Would you have time (after the main gear hits the runway, I assume, just in case you need to go around) to kill the engines before the nose comes down, to avoid prop strikes?
-
What's the advantage of remaining on 24 rego when you're running on condition? As far as I know, an aircraft can't be used for training when the engine has passed 2000 / 1500 or whatever it is for the 912 type. Can it still be cross-hired?

new RC glider world speed record

All I can say is that wing must be incredibly strong. Imagine the force on it in the turns - same goes for the elevators. -
No, the vid you posted of the Griffon clearly shows all-flying rudder and no braces. But yes I believe the design has been copied quite a bit, not sure if the Zenith site still mentions it but it used to have a warning about knock-off designs based on the 701.
-
Actually it can't be a 701... just noticed the HS/fin braces, bit hard to do that on an all-moving rudder. Also can't be a Sav because of the reduction in root chord, that's more 701. So the next question is... WTF is the plane??

That looks like the goods. I needed one of those for primer on rivet lines - too late now!

Anyone want to try this type of landing
Marty_d replied to SSCBD's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
Yes I was wondering that too, but then on one landing you see the shadow of the stick on the ground. -
You'd think with a critical piece like that where you're bolting / riveting through at least 3 layers, they wouldn't try to hole match but instead just have the holes on the steel piece and leave it up to the builder to align that and drill through.

Yeah, nah. -
What a tragedy that a grand dame of the skies like her was broken up for scrap. Didn't it ever occur to them - "Hey, this plane is one of a kind and unique in so many ways - maybe we should park her in a museum for future generations"?
