Dear Fellow RAA and GA Flyers. I have previously placed a message on this thread in which I endorsed Bacchus Marsh Flying School or TSVN I think they may be known as. I have to retract any positive comments I have made about the school. I could not in good faith recommend them to any pilots or future pilots and would request all who choose them to use caution.
Regards, Jim
See this topic is not clear. A previous post expressed caution of exceeding vne calculating on ias which I found disturbing. The more I read the more I trust the asi and vne shown on that instrument. Unless my pilot handbook says different.

Interesting stuff.
So DJ. If I fly my plane to IAS VNE at any height that is within the flight manual, and, the ASI is accurate can I exceed VNE in your oppinion? When I say can I what I mean is will I (true airspeed) and is this really exceeding VNE or has this been factored into the design testing of the aircraft?
Jim.
airspeed will significantly under read because of density altitude considerations. This is important IF you descend at a high speed. Your actual speed may cause you to be over VNE.
This is an interesting one. Now the forces on the aircraft at higher altitude will be less due to air density being lower. So "can we exceed the VNE when the indicated is under it?" Any smarties out there that can answer that?

Austec Avionics
Does anyone have some ppl past or practice exams. If so I would appreciate a copy of them. Please provide link or send me a PM.
Thanks in advance.
Jim Tatlock.
Can anyone give me advice to what the crew at Ballarat are like? I'm considering doing some training there to cross to GA. I was training elsewhere but have been disappointed with the training and walked away.
Thanks in Advance
Spriteah.
UPdate: Well the plane arrived safely and is awaiting assembly. I have had a small problem that it was not de-registered in the USA so CASA has intially knocked back my rego app but that should be relatively easy to fix. Hoping to have it in the air in the next four weeks.
Regards,
Jim.
Done get a RV 6 into a spin.
Rudder too small and many sore bums after the event. Some have changed the rear fin to a 7.
PS. I have heard many have flipped the 7A on landing. So do research but maybe the tail dragger better.
I can put you on to a 7 pilot that has built a few if you like. PM me for number.
Jim
As a person that used to fly from that airport. The approach is over powerlines and you land long on Runway. From memory the hazard is mentioned in Ersa. As it so happens this airport is closing and the housing developers are moving in.
I recall someone saying that RAA is not welcome through the corridores to get to sale from Melbourne.
I need to go and Visit David Page down that way. Can anyone shed some light? Can I fly down there?
Jim.
Well I have made my purchase subject to inspection. I will keep this thread updated when I know all the true costs, but to me I think I will land a great C172 about 30K less that AUD price with low hours frame and motor.
Jim.
Thanks for all the replies. It is a C172 that I will be trying to get. And in a container it will go. Still looking but hopefully soon find a good one!!!

Well I've decided to purchase a GA Aircraft from the USA.
Im curious what others think. My reasoning is I want a 4 seater, advance my skills, and they are cheap, although I will be purchasing with several others.

Hi all. Due to some un expected circumstances the Geelong Sports Aviators cannot run the normal Lethbridge Charity Toy Run this year. (which was also going to be an airshow). So Im looking for another Geelong Airport to use for the event.
If you can help please tell me!!!
