What has the Widest cockpit of RAa planes?
Spriteah replied to stevron's topic in Aircraft General Discussion
Xair hanuman is wider than a 172. -
I keep seeing this aircraft appear on ebay for sale. Is it a scam or what? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190649957339&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en

But you often have to replace power lines which are way more than landing fees! -
HELICOPTER CRASH JASPERS BRUSH

Motz and crew that were present. I've been thinking about this one most of the day. In my previous life I was a Policeman and saw some horrific scenes. From what I can tell you guys have sadly joined the club. Rest assured we are all thinking of you and the familys, and your family because it will have an effect. Do talk to your friends about it (over a beer if you drink). Do go through your actions in your head but remember that what you did was the best action at the time. And the likely hood of a different outcome would be minimal. If you are struggling see a cousellor. I have and sometimes it can help. Best of luck and from what I see and read you should consider yourself and assisting crew Hero's. Jim -
Bill, when you say noise in your headset what do you mean? Jim Austec Avionics.

Avionics - question about happenings.

Headset try and eliminate first. If not that and as it is not your plane refer to the owner. It's not your right to start mucking around with a rental as it must be maintained by a level 2 under the guidance of the owner or operator. Not the renter. Cheers, Jim Austec Avionics. -
Icom or XcomRadio. Microair Transponder. Jim. Austec Avionics.

Pete I fly and own both RAA and ga. I agree with most comments above that RAA is cheaper. You can purchase some good RAA planes for 40k. If you buy ga you must have at least an annual from a lame which will cost at a min several thousand dollars if they find nothing wrong. The reality is they will find problems and out comes the cheque book. But some people like ga options.

AirNav VFR - what happens when the charts expire?
Spriteah replied to rdarby's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
I've given up on the software but from memory I think the WAC continues to work but vnc vtc won't. Might be cheaper to buy an iPad and get ozrunways! -
Interesting reading those checklists. Personally I like the idea of engine off, nil fuel in the carb and tanks shut down. If you think of worst case and for some reason you end upside down the last thing I want is to be strapped in with fuel pouring out trying to shut off motor and tanks. Just my oppinion. Jim

Just a quick comment. If the guy and I say if has done what is alledged by witnesse's then I would say he does not deserve a ticket to fly. It's a priveledge to be able to do what we do. And rest assured if we do not play by the rules CASA will (I personally think it's in the works now) take us over and we will not have the freedoms we now have. PS. There are not that many countries that you can say,"I want to fly a plane" and they let you!!!! Jim

Quite a deal, wish we got such cheap flying here
Spriteah replied to rdarby's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
I purchased one from the USA last year and brought it over. Add $30K to purchase price and you are in the ball park. But as first mentioned, if you lived in the States. What a great offer. -
If I had to hazard a guess I think the new section of CASA that is looking at RAA, Antiquers and Experimental are moving into action. Most likely have informed RAA of an upcomming audit and correctly RAA are trying to get all the ducks in a row to avoid grief and heartache that follow CASA where ever they travel.

I saw an interesting bit of aviating on the weekend. At a toy run a 24-XXXX plane flew into the event, parked near the tower and about 50 people watch a guy, a girl and then a toddler exit the plane. Not the smartest idea I would think as it was a CASA employee who was running the unicom from the tower. Would not surprise me if the pilot receives a please explain in the mail. Good luck!
