  1. Yes it did. Great web site thanks for that... I still cannot see and airfield there but at least I know where it is meant to be....
  2. I didn't build it but believe it takes about 150 hours. Flys great, used about 16 LPh. Cruise of 82 knots with my set up. I'm happy to take u for a fly if you want.
  3. Ok guys and gals. I'm told a need to by a CAG but note it's not cheap and only covers Vic and Tas (where I live). Does the Aopa book have all the details as well but Australia wide? Any advice greatly accepted. (as would an electronic copy is there is such a thing). Regards, Jim. PS. Does Lismore Victoria have a strip? Cannot see it on Google Satellite.
  4. Does anyone have a copy of the AIP flight log planner that you use for planning trips. I have searched the net and cannot find it. If you know of a link please post. If you have a copy please email to [email protected] Cheers, Jim.
  5. Please don't tell this forum that you are making your judgements off media only?
  6. Turboplanner the way you talk about Pauls comments I presume you were at the air field/fair? Is that correct or are you just an observational expert?
  7. Plane hits Ferris Wheel at end of runway. Does anyone else think that when working out the layout of the Fair you would think to yourself, ferris wheel end of runway bad idea. Anyway hope all are ok...... If you have not seen the pics or news the plane is stuck just near the top of ride as well as people stuck on the ride. Jim
  8. Look at this forum! A positive piece on RAA and it gets shot down. The turn is away from the camera, it will appear lots steeper the further in rolls away. Shame on all that critisized this story. And good on El Prez for trying to promote the RAA. If he read this stream he will probably say to himself 'why bother'. jim.
  9. FlyingVizsla Are you guys looking to adopt another son!!!! If so call me!!!
  10. vh-xxx? I don't get it? I was there in my plane which is vh-YYX.
  11. Hi Guys, Just wanted to mention a trip our club did today and how great it was. We did a group fly to Tooradin and had a meal at the restaurant. Absolutely fun. Great views on the way. Great airfield. Great meal. You can get a pilots special for $15 which was good food. I highly recommend the trip to other clubs. Jim. Geelong Sports Aviators.
  12. If you rebuild at 675 hours, what are you doing at 500 hours ?
  13. And a lot of it based on Z80 Chipset.......
  14. Been testing out the Ozrunways. Love it. I bought a GNS 5870 MFI bluetooth GPS. WOrks a treat. About $130 PS Ozrunway guys if you have not already considered it this would work great for marine navigation also and would need very little modifications. Cheers, Jim
  15. Im tipping even a dynon is asked alot to keep a jab engine safe.
  16. Lol love the thread. The petrol you get out of a tank has been batched. If you used a company such as shell (I work for them) or mobil or other safe companies then you get petrol that will meet a company spec. Mostly above Australian specs. If you fuel up anywhere you should get specs that meet aust standards but the are not high. Ethanol is not good for lots of fuel and tank components so be careful with that one. In will dissolve plastics, ect and clog your carbie.
  17. Hi all. Now as we have new rules that allow raa pilots to venture upwards to 9500. I think there are issues that need to be consided. One is flight into ifr airspace. Second is icing. Third is transponders. I personally thing the biggest concern is we place our selves more into harms way. We can now just enter into commercial traffic. What do people think?
  18. It is not a requirement for a private aircraft to have a TSO'd Alt for controlled airspace. Just needs to be checked every 24 months. Just for you info. Jim.
  19. Hello fellow flyers. Those who don't know me I am affiliated with the Geelong Sports Aviators. We are a large club with over 50 aircraft and 80+ members based at Lethbridge Airpark on the Midland hwy between Geelong and Ballarat. On mothers day I took the boss for a drive, on passing Barwon Heads Airport (which has an incredible amount of political upset at present) I saw a new sign. It said "GSA", upon hitting the anchors and upsetting the mother (Boss) I read in smaller print "Geelong Surfcoast Airpark". Well to say the least I am disappointed. Anyway I just want all in this forum to know and understand that there are now x2 GSA's in the Geelong area. Just for you knowledge the Geelong Sports Avaitors is a incorporated body and has been about for over 20 years. Jim
  20. D, Yes I'm a Member and yes use the park. It's a great friendly club. 50 Aircraft hangered there. Drop in any Saturday for a chat. Jim
  21. They are a great aircraft. All they lack is fuel load. During nice weather you fly them doors open. On short final don't forget to push the land now button.
  22. Devastating to many. To clarify the small amount I know they were in a aerobatic machine. His beautiful wife who is also a pilot was close by at the time of the accident. The gee long sports aviators will miss him greatly. I have personally never met a more skilled person with his ability to design, craft and build anything he wanted to. We occasionally joked that he is the only fitter that owned a cro (electronic device). Rip Peter.
