  1. I really like the idea of the steep approach. My first time in a tecnam p2002 i had a taste of it and i can say it was great fun. And from what i can see the sportstar has a great view.
  2. I was looking at it for a training and hire. I live in brisbane now and there seems to be a mix of tecnams and sportstar around the local area.

  4. Here's my issue Solo nav i can go to the training area solo no issue and have done heaps of dual navs. As soon someone say your ready for a solo nav i am out the door.
  5. I would also agree that the BRS is not needed for engine failures you should always have a place to land. The SR22s are very popular in the US and here and there has been a lot of people reaching for the chute handle when they go IFR and loose there engine over tiger country.
  6. I was in the US a few years ago and noticed that a lot of there sport aircraft had BRS chutes. And yet you don't see that many here.
  7. When i started to learn to fly in GA I always took note of the dying to get there posters. And what concerns me is profit over safety with the thin profit margins that school operate on.

  9. The pilots are worth more than the Aircraft. And as a tax payer i don't mind buying them a new one.

  12. I had a china eastern student pilot and was also a student. i was midbase when he came from no where above me to my right. i was with an instructor. I called going around and headed for the dead side. And my instructor ripped him a new one. we did hear one call from this Guy! found out later he joined on base this was Back when YMPC was MBZ.

  15. I am 6,1 over 100kg so and was flying a tecnam p2002 my only issue was forgetting to duck when closeing the lid. So if you can find a tecnam you should be right.
  16. Saw one of them at the Avalon airshow 2009 looked nice. i have never flown a Jab only tecnams and GA. thanks for your insight.

  19. I was in the same boat flying in melbourne 172s PA28 300+ dual got my GFPT did some of my nav,s then the cost was just to much. just moved to brisbane now looking for a good rec school. Paul
  20. I would put first solo up there and GFPT pass. But the one that take the prize for me is flying around above the cloud VFR for the first time. It was and unbelievable experience. Paul
