  3. Bit harsh Jack All of Gippsland, it covers a large area Just not wanting you to run out
  4. I'm hoping that is 1200 - 1330 sausages your talking about Jack lol
  5. I'll see what the weather brings Tim and also check with the MOWAF (minister of war and finance)
  6. Yen I'd much rather back a 45 ft trailer any day of the week than a single axle box trailer As for a B Double well that's not my favourite thing to do even though I have my MC ticket
  7. Welcome Andrew Hopefully you will get some value out of the site, most of us do
  8. I'm guessing during the 45 minute stop someone not with the travelling group pulled the trailer pin Cannot see any other reason for the trailer to become unhitched I find it hard to believe a unhitched trailer from a prime mover would go for hours fine then suddenly just disconnect after a 45 minute stopover
  9. Hey David Don't worry about the butterflies in the pit of your stomach every time you go to takeoff by yourself for the first 50+ hrs It's normal we all go through it
  10. My guess is they put on free booze for all the pax hence why no one wanted to get off
  11. Yes Bill there is but very small I think I haven't landed my Tecnam there yet so I can't say the actual cost
  12. Yep main strip 08-26 bitumen, awesome drop off /slope to the east with awesome rotor when landing on 26 with the wind coming from the west Gravel cross strip, haven't landed there in years due to the landing fees which were years back $25 for a trike that used 80m Clem Smiths strip at Kalimna is a nice grass strip, Clem is a nice bloke also, not sure if he is still flying
  13. Just my 2 cents worth I had oil pressure senders sent from Floods many years ago that where not the correct ones in ohm range I think from memory I had fluctuating readings after installing a new one and after a while I got another one sent from them It was no different so I was casually talking to my local auto elect one day and happened to have the Floods sender with me He informed me it was the wrong one and got me the one he said it should be in ohm range (was a long time ago so I stand corrected if I'm wrong about ohm range) but it was something like that But low and behold it was back to the way it used to sit with the one he supplied me
  14. I'm thinking there is a few more good years in you after 70 for flying Rod, that is of course if you keep to the coastal warmth of Port Mac and not the frigid inland areas of NSW like we are Alf
  15. Nev Nice man Archer2 I'm sure he will fill us all in on his flying life as after meeting him in the caravan park we stayed at I didn't get a lot of time to chew the fat so to speak as we were busy Had a nice chat with Rod and his wife before leaving but it just wasn't enough Got him on this site though
  16. Hi Rod Welcome to the site, I am sure you will get some good stuff out of it Cheers Alf
  17. Looked like a flat spin to me Shafs64 That's my view on it as there was no forward motion so to speak
  18. Whether it ran out of fuel or not is irrelevant im my opinion as you don't have to die just because the engine fails 3 things my instructor drilled in to me when learning to fly 1. Airspeed 2. Airspeed & Airspeed in no particular order You up the odds flying as far into the crash than you do stalling & spinning it in
  19. It might sound callous but at the end of the day it is pilot error 100% Without a pilot there was never going to be an accident As a PIC of an aircraft you destiny is in your own hands unfortunately and as we as humans we make mistakes and very costly ones at that at times
  20. Glad they are ok, that is the most important thing
  21. Well FT I disagree, if he hadn't of hit that wire he wouldn't of had to break a fall I think just a normal landing would have been a better thing for him
  22. Biggles Yes in your case for chopping wood or your engine up lol
  23. Correct pmccaarthy, I have a canopy Bill doesn't
  24. Not going to wish you good luck David, going to wish you good flying instead, you don't need luck you need to fly as you have been taught and the shiny new licence to learn with be in your hands
  25. Geez Bill You can get a 410G from a joint in Bairnsdale for $285 with a bonus hatchet thrown in and free shipping or in your case pick up
