  1. I call baloney. Eagles aren't stupid. I couldn't imagine one would mistake a 5 year old kid for a drone.
  2. Yes it does happen to all of them. The way they share information with their paying customers and the availability of alternatives is the difference between the good and the bad ones. You should know that Ian. You do get what you pay for but sadly the tardy sharing of information part...that doesn't cost any extra and is just a sign of inexperienced or inadequate ground handling.
  3. I just love seeing those hatches on your Ninja Mike. That really makes it perfect. Do you have a hanger at Palmyra these days? I gave up the full size flying and don't have any plans to get back in to it at least any time soon but would love to visit and have a look at your machine with my RC glider flying buddy Steve. He's a pom and only flown in a jumbo to come to Australia.
  4. I remember being totally and absolutely mind blown when looking at a Sonerai 2 in what must have been the early 90s and being told it was an "Ultralight". It was too late then. Of course the pilot was an Ultralight pilot and according to the GA pilots who knew him was too scared to fly the damn thing so just tinkered with it. I never saw it fly.
  5. The RAA boom was a new GA boom. The real boom was pre RAA. It's too late. Most of you never got involved with any intention of flying anything that didn't at least resemble a Cessna.
  6. The poor dude has already been ripped off by one experimental aircraft engine manufacturer... he doesn't need to be an engine test bed pilot again. Come on guys!!!
  7. Agreed....but the short and brutal part played by the 75th RAAF and their P-40s in a short period in the initial battle for New Guinea should be a much bigger story than ANZAC because that is where Australians on their own and despite the colonial masters took their stand and drew a line in the sand in defence of Australia.
  8. I reckon there is a good business opportunity here... imagine if every civilian airport had a couple of well trained eagles on staff. I eagle ly await further developments.
  9. The one unhappy owner probably owns the one I saw do the heaviest landing I have ever seen with an aircraft still in taxying condition after at Shute Harbour Airshow a couple of years ago. It came from Emerald I believe.
  10. That ain't a Mustang with teeth. They are P-40s. Australia owes so much to so few of these aircraft and their pilots for stemming the Japanese flooding into New Guinea.
  11. But they didn't...because GA was cost and regulation prohibitive. So they created the AUF.
  12. In fact I would put in at about the time that Jabiru was looking for a replacement for their KFM engine...Skyfox Aviation was producing beautiful classic Ultralights...Hughes Engineering was producing an amazing ultralight called the Lightwing...and there was still a good possibility of the continued viability of Drifter and Thruster factories in Australia. Anyone who wanted to fly anything more should have nicked off over to GA where they belonged instead of asking for more and more and trying to steal the grey hair too old or too lazy to get a medical GA market. My firm opinion. And some people (newbies often) still have the cheek or ignorance to come on here and claim they want to learn to fly "Ultralights"!!!???? Get yourself a bloody RV if that is the way you want to fly!
  13. The “Be careful what you ask for. You might just get it!” mantra came in to play years before there was even such an aircraft as a Jabiru 430. Sorry to have to point this out.
  14. As if that would ever happen or be ignored by Ra-Aus???? You have to be shocked at the suggestion. lol
  15. If you want to hear a really interesting story about Heavy American Metal VS Japanese Zero lightweights...check out GO FLYING AUSTRALIA podcast- 040 --The rookie squadron who fought for Australia--75 squadron RAAF.
  16. Why should a killing machine look pretty? Such a crazy concept we seem to have picked up.
  17. Extremely fortunate. There is no amount of training that would allow you to do this a second and third time and be confident of pulling it off.
  18. You already have Cessna 150s (including at least one aerobat) registered with Ra-Aus.
  19. How do you block or ignore this Bongo clown with the new software?
  20. Pretty stupid place to put an ice-cream parlour...
  21. Mr Trumpet would love that. A Texas company outsourcing their kits to Mexico. Looks like they do awesome work.
  22. I agree 100%. There is nothing wrong with the youngsters. Sadly on top of what you are saying is the fact that if they do rock up the attitudes shown by many of the older generation is not something that would encourage young people to stick around. There is a lot of homophobia and similar attitudes that young people for the most part just don't want to be around.
  23. Hey Bull. If you have any more videos please up load them to Youtube. They are great.
