  1. It's a small world...Neil Hart was the founding member of the Leichhardt Soaring Club in Mount Isa... "Reg Currell purchased a set of plans from Mrs Munn via Nial Hart. "
  2. No surprises. It has been coming for years. We will survive.
  3. Since when did Multifocals have to cost $1000 a set?
  4. Well this post went to the dogs quickly...turned out about as well as Elliot Sequins flight...
  5. Not that there was anything wrong with the Sav flaps as such...just a better range would improve usability a lot.
  6. I can imagine it would be a big improvement.
  7. So...you have 4 flap setting? None, 1st, 2nd and full?
  8. You'll love it. I can't think of any vices. The nose wheel can vibrate a bit after rotation...you have to keep her pointed down the runway on landing like any aircraft...and you might find you have to get used to the visual perspective of that. Personally I find that the cockpit ergonomics are as good as it gets if I compared Thruster, Jab170 and Texan.
  9. Once you are over 40 you are at constantly increasing risk...and you are always at risk anyway. And as for going to the gym? Perhaps not such a good idea if you are no longer a teenager.
  10. So what happened to all the aircraft??? Where are they now?
  11. Baloney. It would be the same small organisation it was at the least...without all the BS we are getting today. And...there is every chance it would have grown with a bit of a push. This industry and the debacle it has become didn't happen by accident. If costs had been kept down...and the fun factor kept high...it would be just as easy as sell if not easier than quasi tin can GA alike we have today.
  12. It's funny. Everyone is having a bitch about "If you want to fly bigger...in CTAF etc etc go GA"... yet out of the posters on this thread there is only one person whose avatar actually shows an ULTRALIGHT AIRCRAFT... Anyone remember...THIS WAS THE AUF. It has been down hill ever since the Recreational Flying wanna be GA stink set in.
  13. Aviation royalty...the end of an era. So sad.
  14. Remember...the Insurance companies convinced a whole lot of the wanker brigade that insurance companies were ripping everyone off in australia with frivolous claims...so council insurance payouts were capped at somewhere below $100 000. Hasn't anyone noticed they don't even bother putting up warning signs effectively when doing roadworks these days?
  15. It's a lot of people in a little aeroplane...
  16. Holy baloney!!! That wreckage is frightening!!!
  17. I think the price is good. A flying school can purchase 2 of these for the price of a duel seater...and not have to pay instructor fees out of the hire fee. A smart flying school will one day cotton on.
  18. Good work Gibbo. You did what you could. Take care mate.
  19. Good work Gibbo. You did what you could. Take care mate.
  20. It wouldn't be the first of this model (or of many other experimental) to shear just behind the pilots causing fatal injuries from what looks like an easily survivable accident.
  21. You're too late. The "Ultralight" aircraft movement was killed by old men with money and no medicals who were booted out of GA. Sorry. Shouldn't put you off that way... But I have to ask...what do you really mean when you say that you want to fly "ultralights"?
  22. Surely this is comedy!!! "State of the art disposal"... "Preparing for this for months"... "Expertise".... Ha ha ha... They buried the bloody things!!!!
  23. Well you know what to do fellas. These things aren't expensive.
