  1. Red, I don't "DO" selective out of context Quotes but will attempt to address a response to the Particular person where it's not clear, or someone asks me to clarify. , Nev
  2. Bull$#!t Brendan. Did he try to Profit from it? Anyhow put this stuff in Social Australia. It's purely political INTENTIONALLY. Nev
  3. I'm Responding to Turbs. Is that OK? Nev
  4. I think the idea was to save lives. I've lost relatives and Long covid is best not having. . WA was able to isolate. I'm not an anti vaxxer. Nev
  5. Some sounds might be a useful warning. My ears were affected by Aircraft noise over Many Years of Piston engines, Particularly. Nev
  6. Some here have said we live in one. I agree with you. Last time I looked, no such Party existed. . Nev
  7. Some always want the Latest when the Price is Highest. The Ones I used with my Crystal set in the 50'a still work and my 90's David Clarks are fine. Nev
  8. Airports exploit their Monopoly. You are on valuable Land. Supply & Demand . User Pays for the added convenience. Would you like a Communist state? Nev
  9. Maybe there is a "Claws" in their contract preventing it. Nev
  10. I'm too depressed to continue this. . Nev
  11. IT just attracted a lot of tire-kickers. No serious bids on the day. Nev
  12. spacey, you don't pay and Pay again unless your luggage weight is above a certain figure. and sometimes even fuel is loaded at a more limiting figure to permit the operation. It still has to meet the legal reserves so ACTUAL weight is often a limiting factor in taking off and ranging as well.. You use fuel to carry fuel. IF you're heavy you can't make a high cruising level till later in the flight so you then burn more fuel. Cargo is Cargo even the self-loading kind and more dangerous than the inert stuff. Them's the facts. Who do you think should pay for YOUR excess baggage? A lighter plane will use significantly LESS fuel on any sector than a Max weight one. Nev
  13. You get nowhere with that sort of thing. It's for Social Climbers. Nev
  14. You Blokes should collaborate and write "ZEN and the Art of Flying". Nev
  15. You're sourcing from a Heli Promoting site. Coal mining companies promote coal. Nuclear doesn't tell you the downsides either. Nev
  16. That's an "Intuative" answer. In Practice it might work out differently. 50 Hours on a Basic type? Unnecessarily restrictive IMHO. Don't get in a rut where anything different throws you. Landings in the same plane can be different. Don't do anything by numbers.. Fly to the conditions. . An aeroplane at max Wt. is a lot different to when it's light. Nev
  17. Then put your luggage outside with it's OWN wings. Why should others subsidise your excess baggage and your obesity. The plane is weight limited. It's called PAYload. Nev
  18. Never meet her, dat Rita. NEVer
  19. Hi Franco. Keep it up. Best regards. Nev
  20. Riding a motorbike on the road is about the same risk, these days. Nev
  21. Pathetic Turbs. YOU have been abusive of ME since this Forum started. . I strongly reject the suggestion that I abuse people. Substantiate it or don't state it. Nev
  22. It's a Place with a great Legacy. I used to go there regularly. Nev
  23. We should ALL be FACT hunters. Nev
  24. You can change hands. Long term, flying a variety of planes is beneficial to the way you fly. You become more versatile and adaptive. Better. Nev
  25. Do you have heli experience? They are complex and don't cope with any mechanical failure well, whereas a Jet liner is very system redundant and an all engines out airliner will glide over 100 NM from 33,000 feet and remains fully controllable at all times. Rotary wing are also maintenance and inspection intensive and hard to fly slow in cloud and most would say more difficult to fly well. .Nev
