  1. Yep. And we need to be constantly on our guard against those who wander to far from the centre of the top part of the political circle. I think that were what them drafters of the US constitution were thinking about. It’s not a document that guards against any particular “ism” as such. More an attempt to guard against the “human nature” of certain individuals to drift towards self interested and ultimately destructive extremes. Meanwhile, in the corrupt state of Victoria we have a journalist being threatened by Police...
  2. In the top photo looks like there is some slum clearance going on. Either that, or the residents are to useless to pick up their own rubbish. One thing to note is the chubby cheeked children. Luckily in a democratic capitalist society there is enough food, and funds, to go round. And a free, and free thinking, press to be asking questions if there is not enough. Meanwhile, over in North Korea..... I see that in Hong Kong the teachers union has just been shut down. Hmmm, the ‘lights are going out’ in China... .
  3. As an ‘how did we get to here from there’ backgrounder, the last 5 minutes may prove ‘educational’..🤔 .
  4. Most of the video seemed fairly straight forward. Speaking a year back Doherty were putting up possibility’s, etc, re the virus.... then the jarring bit at the end re the world political order, or something.. ? Considering Doherty has an institute named after him I guess his views rule..?🤔 https://www.doherty.edu.au Makes me wonder just how far the ideology Doherty is pushing goes ? Reporter Avi Yemeni is having some strange Police issues: https://m.youtube.com/c/AviYeminiOzraeli/videos .
  5. If yer think the Doherty video is interesting I’d suggest taking a copy as it will likely ‘disappear’ before to long. 😏 .
  6. I try to look at all sides of an issue, though the ‘hidden’ politics discussion of the virus issue gives me eye glaze. That said, the last few minutes of this video made me sit up and go WTF...

Fair bit about Larkin in Trove. Of interest the Western Mining damages were about 50 quid. https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/94903605?searchTerm=Herbert Larkin .
  8. Yer right there..🙂 My ‘mine spec’ pump were bought from the local farm stuff shop. Mine spec is nearly as expensive as aviation spec..🤨 .
  9. Yep, though I were thinking of the possible nocebo effect of all the virus hysteria on those who got sick before the vaccines..🤔 Of interest, I were watching a video on the ‘tower of babel’ tube and seen one referring to an ivermectin trail conducted in India. Seems ivermectin ‘worked’, though the placebo part of the trail also showed a positive result..... 🤔 (The link to the study is on me work computer and I will post it later) .
  10. Never taken much notice of the colour before. Usually fuel is in a drum or the pump. Nowadays I only use ‘release note’ fuel in me aircraft. Dunno that I would be using fuel that you know nothing about and where you have to pour some out in an attempt to identify it..🤔 As an aside. I were having starting problems with me Ducati motor bike. I were told by the Ducati service department to only use 95 as that is the most ‘honest’ of all the Mogas fuels - problem fixed. .
  11. No, I read and commented on your quote.. 🙂 .
  12. What yer missed is what I think is an important detail - The age spread of critical patients is now younger. Although, what is now showing up with the reduced critical care patient numbers that are claimed to be due to the increased vaccine rates may also be due to the reduced nocebo effect. If yer ‘believe’ the vaccine works, then it works..🤔 If you believe wikipedia... “A nocebo effect is said to occur when negative expectations of the patient regarding a treatment cause the treatment to have a more negative effect than it otherwise would have. For example, when a patient anticipates a side effect of a medication, they can suffer that effect even if the "medication" is actually an inert substance. The complementary concept, the placebo effect, is said to occur when positive expectations improve an outcome. Both placebo and nocebo effects are presumably psychogenic, but they can induce measurable changes in the body. One article that reviewed 31 studies on nocebo effects reported a wide range of symptoms that could manifest as nocebo effects including nausea, stomach pains, itching, bloating, depression, sleep problems, loss of appetite, sexual dysfunction and severe hypotension.” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nocebo
  13. Years ago to refuel me chopper I bought a 44 drum pump that had an after pump fuel filter and an earth strap all included. If they is still available seems the go. .
  14. Dodgy link eh..🤔 oh well... Considering the link, when ‘numbers’ keep changing by the day it is easy enuf to miss-speak and get them back the front. ...Although, as time goes by it seems the ‘numbers’ may back up that dodgy link. Depending which source yer go to Israel now has about 80% of their critical care virus patients as being fully vaxed before getting sick. From what I can glean Israel has the highest vaccine rates of over 75% of population. .

For the times, the aircraft present well from the front quarter view, though, that tail is butt ugly... .
  16. Hmmm... the way its going, why have ultralights at all ? Before ultralights we had a perfectly useful certified VH light aircraft fleet maintained by Lame’s..... .
  17. Just had a look-see at the Vortex Generator vid. Some nice flying shots in it. There were one approach though where he had the stall warning going off a long way out from touch down. Makes me nervous just watching it. In my opinion, in the sort of ops the video depicts, there’s no need to be flying slow until yer near touchdown. .
  18. Heh... looking to be thrown a life vest, a get out of jail free card.....🙂 Anyway, how we is going to supply power to all them new electric powered toys is a ‘foundational’ question. If a Tesla on fast charge draws the equivalent power of three average Australian homes then yer can see we need a lot more power supply if we intend to have all cars electric, let alone electric aircraft. .
  19. Hmmm... “installed grid capacity in the world...” Its funny how we see these graphs all the time... Why, look at solar it has x percentage of grid capacity..😏 As I write this it is 6am in Mumbai. I wonder what the total grid supply were from solar panels in the last few hours..... 🤔 🤫
  20. When I did my basic training for VH we did a few circuits with the ASI taped over. When I were doing my NGT training circuits, on a full moon night of 8 octa’s severe clear, the instructor sticky note failed the ASI. I assumed it were just part of basic training ? When you know your machine power and attitude = ... .
  21. A sad day... In the months leading up to the prang I noted there were always an enthusiastic group around the chopper. Plenty of flying done so the pilot would have bean fairly conversant with the machine. As to the pilot being conversant with the panel mod’s, I don’t know. One thing I do know is the pilot did not knowingly set out to have a prang that day. Going off the accident report we have a grab bag of issues that can trap the inexperienced or untrained: Pax, high winds, turbulence, dust, clouds, rain, panel, and the oncoming night to which the aircraft and pilot were not apparently suited. The report discounts the medical issue reference the prang. Fuel is basic training stuff, so...? Panel: I don’t know what av related info were on the iPad that were front and centre to the pilot. I’m guessing there were a nav app. There could have been a usable IF panel on the iPad. I’ve never used an iPad, or similar, for flight so don’t know much about the nav apps. One thing I do know is they can be very bright to look at in a dark cockpit unless dimmed. The report references the left panel AH so I’ll assume the iPad were the nav panel. I would hate to be trying to do basic IF flight by looking at a large block of bright light in front of me whilst also having to turn my head to look a long way over to the AH that may have relatively very dim lighting. And then there’s the ‘leans’... nuf fer now. .
  22. If you happen to be doing IF when the GPS goes down and yer got an ADF then I suppose there will be a role for it. .
  23. OK, so, it is accepted that India is dramatically expanding its coal fired power stations..😎 Before I look at China, how goes Africa...🤔 “...It was quite a shock to Africa Energy Chamber Executive Director NJ Ayuk – and an even bigger shock to the Chamber – that the London-based Hyve group decided to move the annual Africa Oil Week from Cape Town, South Africa to Dubai. It was such a shock that the AEC shortly afterward announced it was sponsoring Africa Energy Week on the same weekend (November 8-12) as the (Out of) Africa Oil Week. Mr. Ayuk works hard to ensure the interests of African companies and citizens in African energy ventures are widely recognized. He calls the dueling conferences a major confrontation between “Cancel Fossil Fuels” (Dubai) and “Protect our Oil and Gas Industry” (Cape Town)...” Oh dear..😏 https://wattsupwiththat.com/2021/06/23/cape-town-and-dubai-battle-over-africas-energy-future/ .
  24. Don’t yer have google search ?..🤔 https://www.thefreedictionary.com/yer 🙂
