dutchroll
Our 2nd visit to KSC in Florida. The (real) Space Shuttle Atlantis on display. If you're passing through Florida and you don't go to KSC, you're mad in my opinion. The weekend sportster before going flying the other day:
Guest ozzie
Looks like Sydney Skydive's two Nomads. Yes, VH-SNX taken from VH-WRT. Both N22. This flew out to Lady Elliot Island for years, flying Alkaselsa tablet.

Phill really got his money's worth out of the Nomads. Didn't WRT end up being left at Cowora after a mishap?
Guest ozzie
Another Sydney Skydivers Nomad. This is a N24. VH-BRP. Had a gear up whoopsie when landing in a thunderstorm at Corowa. This Nomad had an interesting logbook. It was the company demonstrator and had flown around the world. It spent a month on the ground in Sweden when it overshot the runway and took the nose gear out. These Nomads were good income producers for us. Really hard to stay on top of them.
GAFA
I worked at the flying school (Illawara Aviation) that was in the hangar that did the maintenance on the Nomads. Got to know Bl..k George very well. Also flew the C182 VH-TMC.

Guest ozzie
I worked at the flying school (Illawara Aviation) that was in the hangar that did the maintenance on the Nomads. Got to know Bl..k George very well. Also flew the C182 VH-TMC. We had them when i worked for Bill Spence at Fixed and Rotary at Camden then took them over to R&D Airmotive out of Biritex's hanger (Old Av Center). We then moved over to Chieftans old hanger on the other side of the airport. Lost the Nomad contract due to some skulduggery. Didn't contest it as had some word passed down from the then CAA that the Nomad was going to be AD into the ground.Wasn't to long before they all slowly stopped flying. Know Bl..k George only too well. What a piece of work he is. Has someone shot him yet? Phil used to complain about high costs he was paying everyone to work on them I kept telling him to set up his own facility for years. it was only after he got involved with George did he see the light. He must have really stuck it up him. Bankstown was a real nasty place to work from. TMC now there is a 182 with a history.

dutchroll
Panorama taken at sunset over the North-West Cape heading to Singapore. Clear skies to the west. Lurking in the darkness just right of track are intense storms at 80-100 nm topping out above 40,000ft, visible in the photo on the nav display.
