  1. If the ferrite clamp doesn't fix the interferance when you put it on the charger cable, try it on the battery side. That is, behind the panel socket. Sometimes the noise is being radiated from the battery feed wiring.
  2. Oh, darn! I thought it was Single Malt that did this. I've been doing it all wrong!
  3. Great idea, Arthur. I would be interested in including the GA-912 in your wish list. However, I do not know what weights Howie has tested them to? Anyway, I was running a warp drive 3blade prop and would like to keep it when I reassemble my a/c. Peter
  4. It might make sense if the online version didn't have all that advertising. Then again the advertising is sometimes, in itself, a useful thing. Maybe compromise could be made by removing the large picture component of the advertising, (for the online version) which would speed up the process for our many country members who cannot get high speed internet?
  5. Simple rule #6 Don't fret about anything you read on a forum
  6. I thought that morse code had been declared dead and buried. But basically only old frrts like me would be checking the morse, just to see if we can remember it. And the quicker you spot it, the older you must be!
  7. Pump storage has been working in S E Queensland for 30 years or so. There is 600Mw available but not enough water in the dam to run all night. However it provides an instantly available source of power that can be used to fill a short term burst of demand. So pump storage is a viable part of the answer.
  8. Careful how you go about comparing retail electricity prices - for instance South Aust prices went up after privatisation of electricity assets. It may have not been affected significantly by the later wind turbines. Generally you find that prices go up as soon as a public service gets privatised. Anyway I don't think that wind turbines are likely to have much affect on us, flying little aeroplanes. Most of us don't have low level endorsements so shouldn't be down around windmills anyway.
  9. Ian, you should well know.... You can please some of the people some of the time, etc...... Please don't take anybody's comments too personally. We love the site, or we wouldn't be here to comment. Keep up the good work.
  10. Ian, Just logged in on my laptop and I find that the left hand side is clipped - about half way across the poster's avatars. Seems good on my iPhone 4 though. Just noticed it is covered by the left hand side menu bar. Can I move it to across the top? regards, Peter T
  11. Can always count on Phil for some Good old Philosophy Very old!
  12. Not so funny....... I've got an ex like that!
  13. Subject: Walking The room was full of pregnant women with their husbands. The instructor said, "Ladies, remember that exercise is good for you. Walking is especially beneficial. It strengthens the pelvic muscles and willmake delivery that much easier. Just pace yourself, make plenty of stops and try to stay on a softsurface like grass or a path." "Gentlemen, remember -- you ' re in this together. It would 't hurt you to go walking with her. In fact, that sharedexperience would be good for you both." The room suddenly became very quiet as the men absorbed thisinformation. After a few moments a man, name unknown, at the back of the room, slowlyraised his hand. "Yes?" said the Instructor. "I was just wondering if it would be all right, if she carries a golfbag while we walk?" Brings a tear to your eye, doesn't it? This level of sensitivity just can't be taught.
  14. First saw this one 15 yrs ago when Telecom (Telstra) started grappling with privatisation. But I think it might date back to Plato's time. Nothing has changed since the invention of Administratium.
  15. Back to original topic..... I'm confused. There's no way this could have been caused by an engine failure! It' not a Jab !
