  1. Then click map (bottom left) and the next screen will have like a cloud top right. Click that and remainder of downloading will occur to 100%.
  2. For less than $200 you can get a less than 0.5 kg jack from Peter Anson Engineering. I have one and the need to remove a wheel is no trouble. Worth the money spent the first time you use it. Imagine need to source support and or dig a hole and hot humid temp. It's a bugger.
  3. Open and click on settings, bottom right. That will show download %.
  4. Hi Col My lower cowl is held on with three 4mm metal threads into nylock nut plates. The upper cowl is held on with camlocs in stainless steel. I would if doing again place the headset plugs low in front of the seats on the console. You should consider a dedicated thread for your build as that heaps all posts together. No worries on this one; up to you.
  5. Perhaps write to them with a copy of your original report and ask for a copy of their outcome / findings.
  6. Re cost of hangarage and airfield access allow $5k per year as a start and actual will hopefully be less. Maintenance should allow at least $2k for starters; GA will be more at times. Regarding hangars if you find one consider purchase if you can. Make your decision to purchase an aircraft based on experience in the left seat and where you will fly most. Don't go off adverts, articles and webb sites to much. Get the feel during flights and what airfields you will land at. Enjoy the ride.
  7. KIngaroy have gilders do right hand circuits and powered aircraft left hand. Good for safe operations considering the in circuit air speeds.
  8. Agree; however, I believe that adding one word ( the respective airfield your are in circuit for) would enhance safety and add to airmanship. I would do it. Just my comment for consideration. I have flown both Blanik gliders and a Gazelle at Caboolture in the past. It's a growing airfield and I am all for safety improvement where identified.
  9. With airfields near to each other the same freq is good as when on 10, 5 miles etc you would be transiting their area at times. A good addition in areas like Caloundra and Caboolture might be to add the respective airfield after the direction being said (eg 11 Caboolture instead of 11 where you say it in the transmission) this would add to the two Airfield advices at the start and end of transmissions that are sometimes missed.
  10. A mate with a 'Magni 22' got to a situation near rotor speed being to slow so he hit the pre rotator, thinking that would speed up the revs. That did not work; infact it uncoiled the flex drive cable, destroyed it instantly. He was high enough to maintain flying rotor speed and got back to his home airfield about 10 miles away. Then grounded until a new pre rotator cable was shipped to him and fitted. A lesson Learn'd.
  11. Good your getting the swarth and other contaminants out. always some and sometimes plenty. Some poor after welding etc practise see heaps of crap in the tanks. Enjoy the taxi and workups.
  12. I took it that you were fitting the gascolator to your project. As stated I would fit one. Yes; Hengst are a good small size in line filter and have been used in Skyranger model for ages. The added benefit of the gascolator is the water trap, its size (quantity of fuel) and does not collect any debris in my system as the primary in line filters do that job. I use a mister funnel so never dirt in filters. When is your project in the air; will be a fun time.
  13. Exactly; filter blockage = reduced or nil fuel flow to engine via carbs. Hence his recommended advice / comment and I agree with such. Perhaps then 120 is overkill for a carby engine??
  14. I'm a believer in gascolators and recommend them if not fitted to a home build. Had one in the Skyfox CA22.
  15. One point I agree with Thruster is that anything that passes through 70 microns will be digested by the Carby and not cause any jet etc blockages. Its not like filtering potable water etc.
  16. Hi Ext I have a set of 6 bolly prop to flange bolts by Bolly. M8 x 75mm and heads are drilled. (Bolly batch number 09-743) They are in packet unused. Let me know if they are the size your after,
  17. Hi RF if your oil cooler position needs tighter radius connection pipes Rotax sell (at Rotax pricing) tighter 90* bends. I bought these to replace the usual connectors like on the oil can so I could have oil cooler high under the gearbox output prop flange. Looking good.
  18. Wow, must have a smooth taxi way and runway. Lucky it didn't bounce up into the prop.
  19. I'd email the company ACS with an image of the item and ask them. Never know it could be a Chinese knock off and they got the part number wrong; stranger thinks happen these days.
  20. Agree Mark; also on final and late final in turbulance you can miss operating the switch. Whereas you grab the manual flap handle and adjust to what you need.
  21. That's piss poor customer support. They were a good prop until about 10 years ago. Left behind with development and resin types other brands now have available. I bought a set about 10 years ago. Not interested in their current models for new purchases. They should support their product 100%.
  22. They will carry more than 230 due to the lighter empty weight of the Sav xl (320kg). Jabs are heavy construction in 230 (370kg).
  23. Also a white xl engine less than 500 hrs to be advertised very soon at about $58k. Owner just sorting the add and description
