  1. Interesting Frank . Their own paperwork states either a JP or a Commissioner for taking declarations will do .... Bob
  2. I am reliably informed that the submission that we were all invited to contribute to, has indeed been submitted to our political masters . Just another example of the work being done by our dedicated team in Canberra ..... Bob
  3. I doubt that the authorities would insist on an ASIC in an 'emergency' , but then again !! ........ Bob

  5. Like Latrobe Valley which is also a Security Controlled ,according to ERSA ,with the usual 'security' measures such as 900 mm fence and push button 900mm gate ( always left ajar ) with the usual ctaf code if anybody ever bothers to shut it . The occasional RPT flight ceased many years ago when Rex pulled out . The system's a joke ...... Bob

  8. Agree , but as you are aware all Jabs apart from a few very early ones, the air is filtered. Jab drivers are spoilt in this regard ..... Bob
  9. Had a few instances where I suffered icing when taxiing prior to take-off . I now apply carby heat immediately after starting and maintain until prior to run up checks , which I do as late as possible prior to take off. In reality the only other time I apply carby heat is when on approach to destination ..... Bob
  10. Agree Poteroo , but surely these manoeuvres /skills can be taught at a safe height . Many fatal accidents have occurred with an Instructor on board ...... Bob

  12. Hmm, that extra speed and carrying capacity would really be nice Bill , but even the 160 is a bit tight in the hangar ( gotta watch 'that' spelling ), so not sure I'm up to going through all that again .......but then , if you're really interested ! ...... Bob
  13. Good effort by another 'senior' pilot . The extra 20 knots with the 230 certainly makes a difference .... Bob
  14. Not sure why the fact that the aircraft is factory built is ... " important and highly relevant to the accident " FT , the engines are identical in both factory and home built, and both can be maintained by the owners ..... Bob
  15. That's something a bit different SD , and not too bad at all from the iPhone . Bet the old eyes and feet were working overtime on touchdown . Pic #3 looks a bit like the feedlot/abattoir I remember on the Premer road ..... Bob .
  16. A nice day for a trip to Orbost , actually located on the coast at Marlo , about 50 mn.from Bairnsdale . 1. Showing the Snowy River entrance to Bass Strait with the township of Marlo on the Eastern side of the Snowy . The airport is located a few km. further East. 2. Lining up Rwy. 07 3. With co-pilot of 50+ years
  17. I've got a feelin' something is heading your way Alan !
  18. We're expecting around 25 C today so got airborne early . Days like this remind me of why we tolerate the cold Southern winters . Another pic of 'my and Alf's country ' .... Grazing land with Gippsland lakes then a roll cloud covering Bass Strait . Bob
  19. Jet the serial no is 22 B 299 which I think would be a fairly recent build ... Bob
  20. Having a good knowledge of your aircraft 'systems 'and the consequences of their operation ,enables pilots to be in a better position to diagnose, and often rectify or isolate, in flight faults ...... Bob
  21. Yes I agree Bruce, in fact I can't ever remember paying anything for my Jab. , but blxxdy inconsiderate of SD , in fact I'm thinking of taking the matter to the anti Discrimination Tribunal , may finish up getting a few hundred acres off him .
