  1. BOOM TISH.
  2. OR You call RAAus, and ask them to please pass your details on to the owner, who then may call you.
  3. Try too, The Vintage Aviator in New Zealand.
  4. And the odd ferris wheel.
  5. You don't need a parachute for skydiving. Once.
  6. Next they'll be wearing gigantic watches with lots of buttons!
  7. Do it in Melbourne at present and here's some of the fines: Speeding above 80kph tunnel limit $567,000 Unroadworthy vehicle (even though you are not using the road) $235,000 More than 5km from home during lockdown. $8,776,325.80 Not wearing a mask $387,998 Not remaining in the left lane $115,900 Headlights not on $600,500 Smoke emitting from vehicle $700,453 Blocking traffic at the tunnel exit $222,987 Number plates not displayed $4876 No tail lights $57,544 Unregistered vehicle $23,887 Congregating with other humans $56,876,543
  8. A sudden increase could well be several reserved marks not being renewed (as required each year, until registration takes place).
  9. As far as I understand it, the cafe was set up for and council approved for Airside access, only. (with visions of expanding to public access for passing traffic, of which there is a lot). It became apparent, apparently, that public access was never going to get approved by council. Dunno why. Other than supposedly, they didn't want the public wandering Airside. Well we all know that's a no brainer to solve.
  10. Yes, good. And how would you repair the bullet holes?
  11. 200 or so left listed, probably at least the same or more "reserved" but still, it's not a lot is it. Imagine if all the RAAus and other organisations had to VH register too - we would have run out long ago. ICAO has allocated VH to Australia, maybe beyond that, Australia can do whatever they like. AAA, go to four letters ABCD, it's a question I have often wondered about. If we go to four letters, we may be able to have as much fun as say UK with examples like G-WHIZ, G-FORC, G-IDDY, G-RIDE. VH-ELLO? Nah. VH-WIND. VH-FART. VH-ACDC! VH-STFU, VH-PIPR, VH-CSNA, VH-GROB, VH-ARRV, The world is our oyster! I see New Zealand already has ZK, ZL and ZM available. Generally, they often do not display the ZK mark. At Tauranga one year I saw MOM, DAD, SON, NAN, POP, SIS, (not sure about CUZ and BRO) all lined up.
  12. https://m.facebook.com/meltonairservicescafe500/ Have not been there (yet).
  13. RAAus own design two seat is not LSA. It's just amateur-built. VH Experimental amateur-built has no weight limitations or passenger limitations. CAO 101.28 still exists but is dead and buried. Ignore it.
  14. Rutan Defiant had no conventional rudders, just a single forward mounted rudder under the nose.
  15. At the 2021 Australian sheepdog trials, how many were found guilty?
  16. PLUG pulled. /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Time of death 5:17pm 10 Aug.
  17. Bacchus Marsh Victoria for example, the transfer deed (from Dept of Transport and Communications) on behalf of the Commonwealth to the President, Councillors and Ratepayers of the Shire of Bacchus Marsh was signed on 9 October 1992. And with that transfer, the local authority (the shire etc) agreed to certain things as set out in the deed. Including accepting $240,000 grant for various works to be completed within 5 years. The whole shebang was leased for 50 years from 22 DEC 1993 to Western Region Sporting Aviation Group Inc. "at no cost". Some names have of course changed since 1993.
  18. You can drive into any of these towns, stay a few days, spend your $, and get charged nothing for entering or parking as long as you like in the street (meters excepted). You don't pay for upkeep of the parks, the roads, council services, nothing. Fly a plane in and let's go baby, the cash cow has arrived.
  19. It should pass. Open any air vents available. Spent most of your time looking outside the aircraft, particularly at the horizon and the big picture. This is so you will see what you feel in the seat. Each bump etc. If you spend too much time looking at instruments and in the cockpit, concentrating hard on sticking to a height or whatever, what you feel and what you will see is a mismatch. Glance at instruments, don't gaze at them endlessly.
  20. Further note, my Jabiru 2200 has 5/16 oil hoses, barbs and the same on the Jabiru supplied cooler. I've flown on a 44C day one time, chasing a yak52 around - didn't know it was that hot. No problemo.
  21. Of three same 2200 powered aircraft at my airfield: Mine - no oil thermostat. The other two have THERMOSTASIS. (are they still available - I dunno) One has the original and standard 5/16 oil hoses for our serial engines. I'm not exactly sure if the other has too, or if he went up to 3/8 hoses with a recent cooler change. I run a cooler blanking plate in winter to get usable oil temp, the other two do not. My winter oil temp is about 90C, and the others are closer to 80C which is in the factory spec green range. A bit more might be nicer. Zero problems with the other two, summer or winter. Zero problems with mine too by the way. On the earlier 2200 engines, Thermostatis required the use of a lower profile oil filter. Ryco would no longer fit. Early Valvoline V05 did fit, later ones did not. That was a WHAT THE.... moment to solve. Can't recall what brand oil filter they currently use - it's something a little exotic that took a bit of finding.
  22. One time, (no, not at band camp...) we were in a cafe for breakfast and when it quietened down a bit, the chef/owner would come out and read the quiz from the Sun paper. "What was the Schneider Cup award for?" SEAPLANE RACING says I. "Say what?????? What the hell is seaplane racing????????" JUST LOOK UP THE ANSWER DUDE.
  23. As long as the DAME is a "DAME2" - and many are not - they didn't want the liability or the fluffing around to get it.
  24. I think this is more the style you mean Old K: https://serpentineairrace.com.au/ Serpentine VICTORIA (where there is no airfield)- not WA. Postponed several times due to the Rona.
  25. Air racing is for pussies. Like this one I saw at Reno in 2012. Go fast, turn left.
