  1. With the average weight of a canary being 15g, that's 3,333,333 canaries.
  2. Paradise Station. 1500m Google map it, http://www.paraway.com.au/our-stations/central-east/paradise/
  3. OMFG. TMI.
  4. Flew to WANG with a mate and his wife one time to visit Airworld. I couldn't make it off the tarmac through the childproof gate! I'd never seen one before, had no clue how to open it. Georgina came to the rescue!
  5. Do you need something done to your prop?
  6. Not for the last 15 years or so, as far as I am aware. I went to his place one time to see a three blade in development. Actually, that would have been closer to 20 years ago I think.
  7. AUST Performance Propellers was Mick Dye, Gippsland Victoria, probably 15 plus years ago.
  8. Close, but no bananas. And I'm just using the AIP facts for the result. 1/2 point bonus for Jase because it's technically viable.
  9. Stand by, checking

  11. Quiz time: Tower says: ABC, you are number three following a Cessna on downwind, expect your base turn on my call. What do you read back? And why. (Just going to get some popcorn.)
  12. OOPS. Somehow this ended up in the wrong thread - was meant to be in the readbacks thread..... MOVED. (don't reply here, ignore it/me/whatever.)
  13. Quiz time: Tower says: ABC, you are number three following a Cessna on downwind, expect your base turn on my call. What do you read back? And why. (Just going to get some popcorn.)
  14. I can see it coming to an AVMED questionnaire near you: Q1. Have you ever been diagnosed with Corona Virus? YES/NO/UNSURE Q2. Did you die from it? YES/NO/UNSURE Quick question: Does anyone, anywhere, personally know anyone, anywhere, who has it/had it? (not interested in my mate's auntie's gardener's next-door-neighbour's dentist's tax advisor might have had it) Last time, many were asking CASA if they could go fly. This has nothing to do with CASA. It's not their lockdown. They can't let you fly, or stop you.
  15. Curled up with a good book, or someone that's read one?
  16. Perhaps nothing at all. I was out and about one time in a 172 with my dad and heard the Channel Seven Squirrel helicopter transiting where we were. I called him up and he came over and pulled up right alongside, with the reporter in the back waving at us. After a minute or two he pushed over and made the jump to hyperspace. No way I could stay with him. Dad thought it was so great.
  17. Try this one. Try the yellow one from ONETRACK FIRST.
  18. I'd love to fly a Subaru powered aircraft. Yeah, nah.
  19. Sauer and Limbach do some European certified VW based engines. I think the chocolate(?) blimp that used to run around Melbourne a few years ago had Limbachs. There are lots of auto engine based non-certified engines. Raptor: an accident looking for a place to happen I think. Way too many half-assed fixes on the run, and mostly in the flight controls. I find it very difficult to watch his progress, absolutely messed up "Americanized" Aussie accents turn me right off.
  20. Have a prowl around on www.geotyres.com.au Also the KENDA range
  21. Or for the facts, you could just read up what AIP says on the topic. Way too much crap is read back these days because someone starts doing it and everyone else joins in.
  22. Was it found in Snowtown? (asking for a friend...)
  23. We check ours tail down and horizontal often and do find a notable difference. (Same planes, Captain Speaking, you know where.....) Horizontal full oil = at top mark. Tail down full oil = half way between the marks. Nothing much in oil catch bottle after 25 hours. Maybe 100ml, if that.
  24. To clarify for Peter, You can fly your plane on your RAAus RPC at Camden when the tower is not active, and when the tower is activated, you must also hold PPL/Medical. As a PPL holder (only) - I can't operate your 24 registered plane. As a PPL holder, you can't even operate your plane. You operate it via your RAAus RPC. 24 reg planes can only be flown by RAAus members. Wait, what??????????????????? Everyone sufficiently confused yet?
  25. Today, I hit 500 hours and nearly 15 years on my Jabiru engine 2200 #1583. Thank you Jabiru Aircraft Australia.
