  1. Spent a couple hours there a couple years ago and was made to feel welcome by those I met. I sneaked away from my Mrs and her school reunion down the road. He He.......
  2. Jabiru does indeed have in-house CNC capability.
  3. OZKOSH was busy Friday and PACKED Saturday. A huge success I say, and it takes a bit to impress me. Well done organisers, displays, seminar presenters and catering. And well done to all those who flew in.
  4. Thank you Neil. Looks like some sunshine finally coming there next week.
  5. Anyone know the result of the OZKOSH organiser's mid-day meeting on-site there today (Friday)?
  6. Surely you mean the VACUUM test on your wallet.
  7. Friend had similar problem in his warbird. Too much time spent on the one freq and the remote head for the radio - all the contacts had jiggled enough to become a bit dirty and unstable. A spray inside with electronic contact cleaner plus a bit of light cleaning on the dial contacts did wonders. Frequent changing of the frequency would have probably kept the contacts all nicely working. Not sure if you can get into the box to do that yourself. Hope this helps.
  8. Tech Form 121 Daily Flight Record for RAAus aircraft. Maybe it's not quite released (live) just yet. Part of the new Tech Manual.
  9. Like this? I think they also had MUM and NAN and POP from memory...
  10. You know what I love, NOT: Santa is not displaying an valid ASIC or VIC while in the designated secure areas of Melbourne airport. Santa is not even Santa - he is some person in disguise, willingly and deliberately let in by staff. Would Al Kayder get the same free ride???? WOULD YOU???? WOULD I????? How do we know it wasn't Al himself? ASIC - what A JOKE.
  11. A great story for sure. From 2008.
  12. Do ya think ATSB will ever release the iPhone on-board ferris wheel footage? It exists. I'm reliably informed it looked like:yikes:from both sides of the camera.

  14. Congrats then Peter, all's well that ends. Sounded just SO suss, straight out of, well, something suss. Happy seller, happy buyer, off to the bar!
  15. Don't tell us you're going to bend over, yet again, for Round 4 Peter! Who were you contacted by? Him? Himself? Again? This has scam written all over it.
  16. Driving around Dubbo over the weekend, there were plenty of VACANCY signs out at motels, right over the whole weekend. No problem. Went by the Narromine showgrounds also later on Saturday - very busy down there.
  17. Many many years ago (15?) I saw what was left of the "Kingfisher" in a hangar at Barwon heads VIC. The more Ron Fisher did to it, the less of it there was. He claimed it to be his own work, (but had previously advertised it for sale as the factory 2 seat prototype.) He had ex RAN test pilot Keith E test fly it once or twice, and I believe he found it somewhere between unpleasant and frightening. When I saw it, it was butchered beyond belief, the engine had all sorts of crappy cooling shrouds all over it, the tailbooms were being replaced with heavy 6x3 or 8x4 inch alum box sections, supposedly because the originals started flexing wildly in flight Ron was telling me, it had about a dozen or more 2lt milk bottles on the floor of the nose for flight ballast, it was in a real state. Ron's then mad-scientist plan was to make it into a push-pull twin, with two Jabiru 2200's, with the front engine being the extra required ballast. The more he modified it, the less of it there was. It was beyond saving by then by the look of it. Dunno what happened to it. The End.
  18. Does this mean you'll be now known as Neville, Nev!
  19. Sounds rather high. You can get a whole car here for near 3000. Try the car importers. A lot of them have a regular customs clearing agent all teed up.
  20. ISPM15 is the timber treatment (fumigation) compliance used in USA. METH-O-GAS Methyl bromide 100% chemical, for wood destroying insects. 24 hrs fumigation. That's what my whole container got. Wood things, in wood boxes, with wood packing. Included a boxed used engine with no special attention, mentions or declarations required - it was on the manifest. AQIS officer took a peek, no problem. Box can also be fumigated here upon arrival. There or here, doesn't matter. Probably cheaper there. C&H Freight - 2 thumbs up from me. Christine is tops Scotty. What US state is this thing coming from?
  21. Then I got to fly some cool things for mates....
  22. Going back quite a few years..... bit of a beast at 19kg and 120 inch span.... but it flew like a pussycat.
  23. Excellent ideas so far. Get them to keep eyes outside to the distance, so that what they see matches what they feel. Keep talking to them, about the scenery, what's going on, anything. Look at them, have them look at you. When they go quiet and won't respond is the time to RTB. They are just holding it together and don't have any capacity left to talk. Give them a sick bag beforehand, and tell them that they WILL NOT need it, but take it anyway, or place it within reach. Sometimes, they are afraid to ask until it's just too late.
  24. CASA 102/15 Appeared on their website today 2 July, backdated to 29 June, for commencement on 1 July, exactly as I predicted.
