  1. Thanks Tim. Couldn't sleep last night and was 'dreaming' of flying my plane to your 'international' airport some day. Just got to get it finished. Sorry Pete, the Nieuport threw me. Tim dresses to the left and you to the right, right? (avatars) Maybe, one day, I'll fly into your back-yard as well.
  2. Can anyone supply me with contact details for Kay please?
  3. Wasn't sure what I was seeing at the start of this video. Shor, but sweet. Beautiful Aerobatic Maneuvers
  4. Not registered but must have the same reg number as the car. May have change now-a-days but that was the case 40 years ago.
  5. Glad you've seen the light mate. Welcome to the club. Please forget you were once a GA pilot and also that 'they' generally think they're superior to RA pilots.
  6. Thanks Mike, appreciate it.
  7. I'll take the car, thanks ;-)
  8. Thanks guys. I'll contact Kay.
  9. No one got anything? Hard to believe as there are many Thrusters still flying. I've searched the internet but can't find anything useful. A hand drawn sketch of the wiring diagram (Rotax 503, single ignition) will suffice as a starting point. Mine's got an 8 pin connector on it. Obvious connections are ignition and rev counter output, but what are the others? CHT leads are separate coming off the cylinder heads. I want to start over-hauling my engine but am reluctant to start without some form of guidance. Surely some-one has something to help me. Eagerly awaiting a reply.
  10. Unfortunately, there are no flying versions of the Gloster Javelin. Not because there aren't any reusable air-frames, but because there are NO spare engines.
  11. Had to look up the Javelin and found this video.
  12. Follow the rules and survive. Well done that man. Glider Launch Failure, Cable Breaks
  13. I'm in need of a Thruster(T83/84) handbook, if suck a thing exists, also a Rotax 503 workshop manual, installation guide, what have you. Photo Copies will suffice as long as they're readable. Cheers.
  14. Tim, you've sure improved your runway from when I attempted and aborted landing on the original short/narrow strip you had way back then. Hard work obviously paid off. Well done mate.
  15. Well done Tim, you deserve your success. Hard work pays off, doesn't it.
  16. Watched the Tour de France last night where a big fire was being dowsed by 3 water bombers in close formation. Well, one after the other actually., but close all the same. Gave the tail enders something to watch other than the arse end of those in front of them.
  17. I didn't notice any yaw problems but then I only had 2 flights as my money ran out. First flight was on normal tyres, second on balloons. What a difference. So soft a landing I didn't realize I was done until the tail wheel rumbled.
  18. I'm not really into air-liners but I have to admit that this new Boeing is a graceful beauty. So elegant on those ultra thin wings. The Beauty of Boeing’s 787-9 Dreamliner
  19. Burnside to Aldinga, that's some drive. I had to go from Morphett Vale to Murray Bridge as there was no Recreational flying at Aldinga at the time (pre Martyn Smith). When you've done with the SportStar, try the SportsCub, a really beautiful tail dragger.
  20. Repost please. won't open.
  21. Wonder why she was fitted with a Harvard tail assembly?
  22. Good one Dave. Time to see some progress on the jetbug.
  23. Welcome Lee. I'm down in Morphett Vale. Drop in any time for a chat, goes for you to Nick. In what and where are you training Lee?
  24. Must'ave over cooked her as she's now under ground.
  25. OK, a quick update. Although registered as a T84, she has all the properties if a T83. 80mm boom, tail lower struts finish short of tail plane assemblies and has no lower rib in the wings. Not that I'm bothered what she is as long as I can re-register her at a later date. Currently she looks like this: Now, another query, one of the 2 tanks I have, and the one I will probably use, appears to have a different spacing to the plane...?: In case this offers some info as far as identity is concerned, this is the pod profile: What I have found so far is that there is more wrong than I first imagined. Rusty through bolts in the wing attachment assemblies, degraded nylon spacers(very brittle), rusty rivets (thought they were all alloy) all bungies are hard and useless. Tail-wheel bearing absolutely shot/rusted out. Will be replacing this with a larger wheel. Still sticking to my 'do a little every day' routine. There's certainly no rush to overlook things that need to be fixed or modified. CYA
