  1. I haven't been there since my time in the RAF and RAF Yatesbury was the radar training school. Let me tell you, many a young girl got her cherry picked by us trainees. Great times.
  2. Photo Thread for the heck of it. Funny how there's more chatter than photos
  3. Did you notice that her ankles 'appear' to be tied to the tree. Maybe she's into a little bondage sexually as well as perentally.
  4. Flat stomach and no stretch marks. She's doing something right.
  5. Iolaire has already flown hasn't it?
  6. Great shot. That 'Moggie' is probably doing five or six times the speed of the Robin and sounding a damn sight more ferocious. Great little cars.
  7. My mistake, same engine. Same question a kasper, I'm confused as well.
  8. Thought you weren't going to say anything ;-) Brilliant, mad cap attempt.
  9. After a couple of circuits with my instructor, he asked for a full stop landing and to pull off the runway for the hangers. As soon as I cleared the runway limits, he said 'stop and shut down', got out and went to the tail of the plane (LSA55 Jab) and proceeded to turn the plan around. OK he said, "I want you to do 2 circuits on your own, good luck" and shut the door. I restarted and headed out and onto the runway. Mistake number one, I'd forgotten to turn the radio back on. Realised it as I was back-tracking the runway. All went well as I shot up into the air, less weight, and did an nice circuit in the hot, calm air. Mistake number 2. On the base leg, I slowed her down more than usual as she just didn't want to go down. I was too fast for the conditions at the time of turning onto base. Turned finals and saw I was way to high so decided, rightly or wrongly, to dive to earth. I pulled full flap and pushed the stick forward. Keeping an eye on my speed I came down on a beautiful negative exponential line and pulled off a greaser of a landing, my best to that date. Went back to first stage flaps and repeated the circuit but this time slowed more on the downwind leg, got the correct set-up for a normal landing and pulled off another greaser. When I told my instructor about it not wanting to come down, he just said, "Yes, I noticed the sudden change in pitch. Well done". I don't think I've ever executed such perfect landings since.
  10. What engine is in that now SD? Seems to have changed from the photos Hugh sent me. I wish you luck with you endeavors. It will fly, but will it stall at less than 35knots, hmm, not sure about that.
  11. Hi Rotax, further investigation should lead to you to a newer design for the coaxial prop plane. I realised that the weight of those bearings would be a problem, let alone the cost. I went on with a cradle of small bearings in which the prop hub sat. This image has one side hidden to show the bearings. A top half would probably be needed but I stopped working on it. As to why the co-axial set-up. Why not? I would have preferred to go contra-rotating props for a straight airflow over the tail control surfaces. I'm not the first to use the system, the latest being on a Gyro-plane
  12. Oh Great. Keep us informed. Unfortunately, your publiapps link won't open for me.
  13. I don't usually speculate but to me it looks like he landed nose wheel first on very marsh like ground. Wheel dug it, flipped him over and the mains never touched the ground at all. A very sudden stop. I'm not surprised his brain is not quite right at the moment. He's a lucky guy to be able to walk away from it.
  14. My mother-in-law put a sample of urine in a small whiskey bottle. Got to the doctors and found it had been lifted from her bag. Serves the stealing shyte right.
  15. Anyone believing that image needs to go and see a psychologist. Defo a set-up.
  16. You may joke, but I HAVE seen design specs and photos in a draft document he showed me on his last visit. Just because he chooses to keep his cards close to his chest, doesn't mean it's all smoke and mirrors. BE PATIENT ALL OF YOU.
  17. KISS mate, and you'll sell one before Icon find a buyer stupid enough to agree to their sales agreement.
  18. Long term memory is good, but what I did yesterday is a bit fuzzy. I also remember a parachute coming down nearby and the bloody hot summer we had that year, 1944. Photo is VE day party. My mum in white standing behind me (leaning back), my sister and younger brother to my left.
  19. Actually, as a 2 y.o. I heard a V1 coming and my mother threw me and my siblings into the Anson shelter in the back garden. I remember the pulse jet stopping and the explosion a mile or two away. Of course, I didn't realize at the time what was happening but for some reason, it's stuck in my mind. This morning's error could be due to the mini stroke I had 2 weeks ago. All's well I'm happy to say, just a little weak in the legs.
  20. I need some wake-up pills. Just saw this post and thought it might be about the German WW2 rockets. Going back to bed.
  21. Just thought you might keep abreast of jet engine development. http://www.chonday.com/Videos/jetinventiok4
  22. Reading the 'amalgamation' thread I see RA.Aus has about $1mill in the coffers. Perhaps it's time to spend some on a qualified proof reader (not a solicitors clerk).
  23. Made it. http://www.seattletimes.com/business/boeing-aerospace/vintage-727-makes-one-final-flight/
  24. Damn, forgot all about it. Glad it went well.
  25. Not quite what you're thinking about but a 'wooden motor glider could look the 'bee's knees'
