A new label is better than the alternative marmalade where the recipe is decided by unions, cooked by an ex recipe writer and advertised cheap. When you pay for it at the register it turns out to be, expensive, a waste of money and leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

RAA Registration search - Coming Soon!
Butch replied to waraton's topic in Aircraft General Discussion
Agree Kaz, I fly out of YBDG and have heard a few local pilots whingeing about your landing fees. You put on a great lunch and are a friendly bunch! Hope we don't end up like you guys at Bendigo! Part of the attraction of flying to country airports are most are free and friendly....tell that to our local councils. -
I agree, learning something new every lesson is great! When you finally achieve your licence you will miss the challenge of having to learn something new. You will also realize how much more you need to learn!

I'm not trolling....If you want to fly across Bass Straight safely buy a bloody JET. I wouldn't fly across in a single engine Aircraft as long as my freckle points South. Why ask the question if you don't have the money to purchase an Aircraft fit for the job and if not aren't prepared to take the risk in a singe engine Aircraft ?

This should really be on the Gripes thread. .
Butch replied to Phil Perry's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
Yerrrrr right ! How much of your 20 acres have you got agisted? Maybe you might have room for my 3,500 sheep that I'm hand feeding? You also forgot to tell us the names of the stud sheep you sold ! Barbarra, Ben, Billy ........... Wish I'd talked to you last September. I could have just sold the lot! Then I wouldn't have been like all the other dumb farmers in our area and spent thousands of dollars trying to keep our breeding stock alive. Why worry about the last 25 years of hard work, breeding and planning to achieve the prime flock we now run ? Jesssss I'm dumb! -
Crack up !......( female flying plane upside down )

Interesting how quick you adapt to new situations......I'm having trouble getting around the old format after using the new V2. Thanks Ian....I don't care what format the sites in you do a great job.

How do you find info on RAA aircraft rego
Butch replied to Butch's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
Thanks crashley, looking at a 19 reg aircraft for sale and wanted to check rego matched the owners name. -
Where do you look to find out info on current registered Australian "19" aircraft ? Looked on RAA and CASA website's and could only find VH registrations, Thanks.

I knew the bloke that did the" AHHHHHHH Fosters Lager" voice over for the old Fosters add ! Fosters was the first beer I drank. Back in the 70's it was nearly the most popular beer. We used to drink the old 26 ounce steel cans we nick named " depth charges"........ 3 or 4 and you were blown out of the water

Bruce the ideal way to sow you seed is with a small seed drill that places the seed a few milometer's under the soil to germinate so the birds can't find it. Some of the departments like DEPI have them for lend or hire or you may find a neighbour with one that might do it for you. The mane thing is to sow into moisture so the seed germinates and grows after sowing, the best time is around late April early May when the soil is still warm enough to get good seed germination. Good luck, Butch (Sorry Birdseye posted after your post)

Don't worry mate my Grandfather used to say " your only as old as the woman you feel". I suppose aircraft count as a female ! So your still young!

Turbo you are probably right for a cheap option !Twitch grass (some kind of couch) is a real problem in Macedon Ranges as it grows and spreads like wildfire. Local farmers blame golf courses for it's appearance, they have to spray and cultivate to get it out of their pastures. That's why I suggested going to the local golf course to find out what its Official name is. Once it's established it near impossible to kill and like most couches it grows low to the ground with very little mowing needed. Don't even think about it ! Lucerne mown low and often won't last. It is designed to be in a rotation so it can recuperate and needs to be let grow out (30cm high) quite often or it will die out.

Just remember......you pay peanuts you get monkeys. Pay the money and have it for years! Vic rye needs heaps of fertilizer ( $400.00 per ton ), will not stand heavy traffic and has a short growing season. Do it once and do it properly. But what would I know I'm only a farmer ?

I'd go to your nearest Golf course and ask the grounds person what they use on the fairways. Local knowledge is always the best!

Sufferer from AIDS - Aviation Induced Divorce Syndrome
Butch replied to padrecolin's topic in Just Landed - Welcome
Welcome Colin, I noticed you owned a Rans S6. What do you think of them ? cheers Butch. -
Been a farmer all my life! Most of us are around 50 to 60. No one wants to stay and work on the farm anymore. Can't blame them, too much bullsh!t ,paper work , and idiots telling you what you can and can't do. It's a bloody nightmare keeping all the so called educated people happy with all their new ideas. No one employs young people as they don't want the responsibility and risk of being sued if an accident happens. You can't take the D!ckhead out of some people no mater how many rules you make. That means you have to pay huge Workcare , expensive public liability , follow every rule and have every employee fully trained in every aspect of their employment at your cost. AND SOME PEOPLE CAN"T UNDERSTAND WHY YOUNG PEOPLE CAN'T FIND ANYONE TO EMPLOY THEM ! I think some of these " NO WIN NO PAY " Lawyers have a lot to answer !
