    Just watched current affair. What a bunch of Douches. Typical of greenies and desk jockeys that have never done anything but criticise any one doing their own thing or having a go. I bet the airfield was there way before any of the people complaining were living there. They more than likely would have bought cheap because of location, then go on to complain. I hope this is a battle that goes in the favour of all of you guys who use and make a living from the airfield. Good luck

    Supplying the arm mounted jet pods sounds a better idea. I haven’t seen any new videos on them lately, but they were impressive. At least you could only splat one at a time with them.

    Every time you enter a competition or join a newsletter etc online your details go out, with no control over them or much chance of a win( in case of a comp). Runways/airfields cost money. paying a small fee is not such a big imposition. The really high charging ones could be avoided, especially in our category. Offers of no fee for fueling up there could be a sweetener for most and bring in business for them. Privacy does not really exist anymore for people who access/use the internet and we should be expending energy on more important things. Just my thoughts on this matter

    went there a few weeks ago, the little radial on the front was different. Suprised at no real forward vision. The lady at front desk was helpful, maybe she could send photos of the info displayed around the plane.

    First trip to Narromine today, test run for new car by after last flights failure ( carby broke inside) Museum is interesting. Will go back again with more time and my young fella with me.

    Added a Tecnam Sierra to the list of aircraft I have flown today. Nice light aircraft to handle after the 182 for so long. Looking forward to my next jaunt in it. YTSW put on a beaut morning for it.

    I sika flexed an aluminium plate to the firewall of a foam and plastic electric mustang, then bolted a .15 glow engine to it. I hand launched it with motor running and the torque tore the front clean out of it after about 10 feet. Modifications are fun learning experiences.

    I remember watching the mini series as a kid, always thought corrugated iron was a strange material for an airplane from that show.

    I followed the same path for similar reasons, only now I sit in a 182 on my own or 1 passenger if anyone is not to busy to come with me, which chews through a bit of Avgas per hour. I had about 80 hours Raaus when i started and took around 26 hours to convert over with the differences in handling, extra things to do like prop and mixture, controlled aerodromes etc. The figures of 5hrs to convert that are sometimes shown must be for geniuses. The bonus now being I can now jump in on a good day and be on the coast in an hour without worry if the tower is open-I actually find I like them there because having someone guide you helps with workload a bit when approaching somewhere new or busy.

    The detail in that cub is great, it took me a moment to realise it was a model. It was as if someone was flying it from the rear seat and filming.

    Missing Man, the Len Waters Story was an excellent read. Reading Pierre Closterman's the Big Show at the moment, having trouble putting it down I have found if I see an interesting book on aviation, especially military I tend to grab it. Collection is growing steadily. If they keep putting crap on TV at night I will be reading lots more.

    Hi Stu, Air law is one, human factors, Basic aeronautical knowledge, Aircraft radio operation, usually befor you solo I have found some books better than others to understand. ask your local school what they require . Clinton

    If the weather is as good as today without the fog it would be great to fly to. the program is in again tommorrow. huntervalleyairshow.com.au has a flying in page with frequency’s and times for arrival. great show today. Only downside was 40 minutes without moving in car park whilst people pushed in from sides, on exiting, main road Marshall’s were excellent at moving traffic once you got there.

    It can be a lot worse. I only got 8 hours in on a mandatory 4 months oil change in C182 at a cost of $400 for filter and oil change( along with 50 L per hour of Avgas). Been busy on good days and shitty weather on days off, about 4 hours up now and not far from next one. How oil causes a plane to fall out of sky I have no idea, but thems the brakes as they say. This is on top of a 100 hourly that made a dent in $3500.00 to comply with. “Free” rego and no licence fee directly does have its draw backs. i need to get my RAA plane going again.
