  1. from the close ups on trailer, you guys were very lucky. Glad you were OK
  2. Once landed with the wind because the big boys were in the circuit already and doing so for morning sun. Took the full 2200m to slow down enough to turn back to exit. learnt my lesson why we were always taught into wind and when to wait outside the circuit until clear if needed.
  3. Just for amusment try going to Centrelink or whatever nice name they have now and watch the young ugg boot and pyjama brigade march in with their IPhone 100's etc covered in tattoos "because they are poor" or having a fag whilst waiting outside holding 1 to 2 prams(these are the morons I spoke of before). When I moved to NSW 16 years ago as a sole parent of 2 under 18months-(one of these animals run of on kids to have another 7 by age 38) I received almost double what I earned working hard for 40-50hrs per week. I lived the high life financially. All the extras, plus pension, fas, etc. I went mental with sitting around - off and trained at TAFE- then work again thanks to a good woman' s help to raise these kids, plus 3 new ones and run a business to success after 14 years to getting rewards finally. I get a nice letter once a year form the ATO outlining where the tax I pay goes. It is scary. the largest chunk is to Single parent familys- Most of which would not exist if they did not have boyfriends living with them on newstart at home to shag. The smallest ammounts g to defence, old aged, schools, roads etc. they even give you a coloured bar graph chart. that is what sh#ts me. There are other things they should be doing with our money. I know this is off point a bit, but pollies have a lot to answer for.
  4. Biggest shame is more jobs gone, ford Holden Toyota, what is next, all of us workers and tax payers current and past are paying for a new generation of unemployed morons with no ability to comprehend having a job and helping Australia, just how many kids they can pop out to prevent work and get tattoos to remember when it runs out to have another. (by the way people who cannot have a go are my pet hate). We keep losing people who were trying, to this bank greed, red tape and stupidly high cost of operating for business with not much return for actual hours worked-mine are up to 80hrs some weeks as are many other self operators I know.
  5. Don't 2 wights make an aeroplane though or at least they started it
  6. Hi, Kevin, Welcome to the forum. Nice country you are based at. I picked up my Bushbaby 500 from that way, could not get over the scenery from the air. Clint
  7. That things awesome. Somehow don't think the "minister" will finance it though. I suppose could keep dreaming.
  8. At less than 2 I had a flight to hospital from a sheep station, later a 6 I got a ride in a Commanche to Clarke Island which stuck with me.From then I always remember wanting to fly. I built models( and crashed them). Then a mate took me to Cranbourne in the Tamar Valley. You could not of wiped the grin of my head with a 4 by 2 after my TIF. I used my Army reserve pay to pay for lessons in a Thruster. Then I got hitched with a girl which killed flying. 19 years later and a lot of wishing, I found out that the AUF existed in a new form and I could learn in Tamworth. After 9 months of training I got to realise a dream and be able to fly an aircraft on my own.
  9. Had a great afternoon last Saturday (14/5) did my first solo navex. Surprised myself and found everything where it should have been. Hardly a bump in the sky. I can't wait to finish servicing the Bushbaby and have it in the air again. Didn't have a camera but the views out on the Liverpool plains are great.
  10. Without getting into politics of people I don't personally know, if everyone is unhappy with the vote-why did they not make the effort to put their view forward in the form of a "no" vote. Us Aussies always seem intent on bitching and moaning about the state of affairs, without getting up and doing something about it.
  11. Hi, Has anyone out there know of where to obtain 6061 channel in 25 by 25 by 3mm and 20 by 20 by 3 mm to use on a ragwing special. It seems common to most of Roger's designs, yet seems really hard to find. I am trying to track down stuff like this before cutting up timber etc to save waste if I change planes.
  12. Just joined, I started my journey at Cranbourne(tas) at 17, took a little break and came back at 37 in Tamworth. I now have my RAA pilot certificate and are doing my Nav. I hope to be flying my Bushbaby 500 some time this year after a bit of downtime for tidying up. I have met some great people since flying and hope to continue this. Cheers.
