    Andy You could get rid of it completely as far as I (and some others)are concerned. I only scan for anything of interest and fine little fitting that bill. I appreciate many here love it, and good for them, but I do wonder how many of the total membership value it as highly.

    Forget about being light (or heavy) on the rudder, just use "sufficient" to keep the nose straight. I think it will fall into place then.

    Obviously if touching the brakes get rid of it it is the mains. I have found a slight shimmy from the nose wheel about the time referred to when the nose is left on the ground too long. I find picking the nose wheel off the ground a couple of inches early in the take off roll and letting it fly off when ready elimates this (being mindful that you have no directional control until the rudder starts flying)

    I don't believe it is a "requirement" for VFR PVT Sue. Certainly a recommended procedure which I support and use but I haven't seen it as a requirement - always ready to learn something if you can point me to where it is "required".

    My understanding it is about recreational flying as opposed to aircraft rego.

    The Lance I did some flying in had an override lever. Everyone operated in the override position. Only problem was in the override position a yellow warning light flashed - annoying by day, distracting to say the least at night. The light was covered with a bandaid so as not to effect serviceable status without annoying the pilot all day.

    Whatever system works for the individual is fine, but one must have a system. I use Red Blue Green as a check on final [when everything should have been completed] - even in RAA aircraft never know when you might jump into something different again.

    English language test When I did mine recently I said to the CFI "I better not fail as I don't speak any other language"

    Just got the new part 61 lic to replace the old one. New "improved and simple" lic is 23 pages to say the same thing and 7 weeks from application. Still getting my head around the new ratings & endorsement format - must be improved because it's "new", they wouldn't complicate things for nothing, or would they?

    Phil I interesting take on the matter. Personally I do not support that opinion as : (a) You can legally use an EFB with adjustable scale anyway (b) If you wanted to satisfy that point then the scale of the printout can be adjusted to the same as the printed item anyway. There will always be different opinions but as a "back up" to an approved legal electronic map, I would argue that the scale is being a bit pedantic. I guess unless your EFB has failed then it is not an issue anyway. As far as carriage goes, if a map etc is not part of your "required operational documents" then it becomes freight only.

    The other option is you can print a paper copy of your route off the iPad and then you would have a paper copy of the current map as back up. Not so easy when planning a route whilst away from home.

    I attended Thangool fly-in last year - expected their appearance and sure enough they were there doing their thing. I didn't speak to them or hear of any problems, but certainly a disincentive to attend these events. It is like a show of strength and we don't trust you clowns. We all know you are liable to a ramp check at any time, and I have no problem with that, but to attend somewhere where you know (or expect) the inconvenience to be occurring must have some negative result. I have operated out of class C (by different names) since my student days and have never had the displeasure but to expect ramp checks at every fly-in is over the top, at least to my way of thinking. One could be forgiven for believing it is more about getting travelling allowance expenses then "safety".

    ??????? Are you saying the ERSA entry is no longer current? This AD is a Security Controlled Airport. ASIC/VIC regulations apply.

    Ben If it was me in your situation I would ring the current OPS manager. I had a similar thing come up when I first got my RAA certificate [issue date being out of sink with GA lic]. The reply from the "then" OPS manager was he would accept a GA AFR if it was done in a C172 or similar size aircraft but not a twin or an instrument renewal. Worth a phone call as I get the feeling the policy changes with person to person.

    Hope you are correct but the test will only be with time. It takes a while for a nobody to make noise in the Senate for example. As you infer though it might (and should) die a natural death.

    Should this be given oxygen then you don't think there could be a flow on? Only takes one of the no policy senators trying to make a name for themselves to give this rot underserved credibility.

    It's attitude not guns that needs addressing. Making guns unlawful only limits law abiding people as guns will always be available. The knee jerk reaction post Port Arthur (in my case for example) has not changed the number of guns I own, only paying another Gov. Tax to have them and the cost of police physical audits every 2 or 3 years. Criminals and idiots will not be prevented access to guns by making a licence fee attached.

    Have to modify for your own BEW and aircraft moment arm (will be close to this) Lat is constant, I.e. No wing lockers or multiple wing tanks.

    To stop the leaking until you can get a replacement - remove the drain and screw in a 3/8 UNF bolt.

    I got the impression on my couple of visits that all the motels have free pick up. Maybe not but certainly the 2 I have used did.

    It does not NEED a rudder trim. If you're happy with your statement fine, forget I even mentioned it. [i have mainly flow larger aircraft but have done over 700hrs in a J230]
