Cut red tape..namely, the unwanted ASIC
flyhi replied to quentas's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
Maybe lots of them because you do not need an ASIC at Archerfield. -

That is good news Louise. Thanks to Bruce for getting involved to sort this out and let common sense prevail even with CASA involved. (amazing) RAA need to give themselves a good swift uppercut for demanding a photograph of "the MTOW placard amended to 450kg as per type certificate " before renewal would be processed. Why pick a type certificate with a MTOW of 450kg which makes the aircraft ineligible for registration with RAA as it does not comply with their own technical manual as pointed out by thommo in post #9 as well as CAO 95.55 re minimum payload requirements. There are numerous type certificates from ICAO member nations operating these aircraft at 550 and 600kg. Imagine the flow on effect to RAA income if this annual registration circus had progressed further with all Tecnams going to VH rego and the owners then not having to renew their RAA membership. And they were worried about the RPL ! I will personally thank Bruce when I catch up with him at the next Straddie Breakfast. He is a good man to deal with and really looks after his customers and all Tecnam owners. Mick

Not exactly Louise. That is the Acceptance Certificate issued by the AUF now the RAA Technical Manager at the time as a result of the information supplied by Bruce. It signifies the acceptance by RAA of the aircraft in Australia at a MTOW of 544 kg.
-
Yes that's right 550kg and restricted to 544kg in Aus
-
Looks like neither does RAA
-
If RAA don't have an appropriate certificate it must be amongst the numerous "RAA Lost Files". They themselves (AUF) have issued an Acceptance Certificate for the P92 Super Echo at 544 kg. Here is a copy attached. P92_EchoSuper.pdf P92_EchoSuper.pdf P92_EchoSuper.pdf

Aeroshell sport plus 4 at sensible price?

Try Shell at Archerfield. Last carton (12 litres) I got from them was around $130. -
I bought a Jeep for $1000 two years ago. 1995 Cherokee Sport with 297000 kM on the clock. Drained and replaced all fluids, oil and filters and it has been my transport from the water taxi to Dunwich Airstrip ever since. Everything works radio, air conditioning and even the warning light when the washer water is low.

How about all those power lines in the pic. -
Check that there is a .35mm restrictor in the return line to the tank. Fuel pressure limits are Max 0.4 bar & Min 0.15 bar and normally run around 0.3 bar on a 912uls.

Got myself a mini a couple of weeks ago too with Oz Runways running on it. Very impressed so far......... Mick

Well that is a significant improvement over the situation a few months ago in March when there was four weeks backlog. Job well done.

"Incompedence" I thought we got rid of that when Mr Tzzzz departed -
Certainly a great weekend at Old Station again this year. Glad to catch up with so many forumites this year and eventually catch up with Maj. The Whitsunday Group had tailwinds on the way home but I was not so fortunate. Departed Old Station for my strip south of MYB Sunday afternoon with 10kts on the nose and from there to DUN on Monday morning it was worse pushing into a 20kt South Easterly and dodging around some showers near Moreton Is. Ah yes it's all great fun and will I be there next year ? YOU BETCHA I WILL !!!
