Also cancelled is Rod's talk on the Saturday morning. If you have any inquiries, please give us a call or drop in to Bundy in more favourable weather conditions. Have fun at Airventure. Happy Landings The Jabiru Team. P.S. Below is a pic of the latest shiny new J230 aircraft we were bringing to show you. Copyright © 2017 Jabiru Aircraft Pty Ltd, All rights reserved. 8. Thanks for that HF, but I was mainly interested in how the Coroner came to that conclusion, after all most accidents/fatals are caused by 'pilot error' (human factors), so the press report really tells us nothing ..... Bob
  9. Hmm Frank , and I'm not 'anyone' either, but I will be cross examining you about this next week... 'in person' .... Bob .
  10. ........ and both the student and instructor were killed. I tried to obtain a copy of the Coroners findings, but it was restricted to close family members. The accident occurred on 19th March 2012 with the aircraft landing in a cane field 14 km NE of the Bundaberg Airport, with no apparent horizontal flight component. There does appear to be some similarities with this recent event ..... Bob
  11. No .... ' He found a place to dwell at Heartbreak Hotel' ..... Bob

  16. Yeah, money can be a problem whether you've got it or not . Really, what can you do with $2.4 million in cash. Can't bank proceeds of crime. May as well just put it in the prime mover.... Jeez I'm glad I've got none.... Ah, that feels better .... Bob

  18. Spoke to Jason today ... Like you say , a nice guy with many good ideas . The parking areas in front of hangars will have loop tie downs, which somehow lay flat when not in use . Discussed the area South of the terminal and cables may be utilised there, but apparently nothing finalised yet .... Bob
  19. Mmm, yeah good point . The Bairnsdale Shire council are hopeless when it comes to things 'aviation' . We have a new Manager, but haven't met him yet. Will talk to him sometime soon ... Bob
  20. Ah, reminiscing about the " good old days " Oscar. I recall when, as a rather impatient fishermen (and often hungry) we used to use the ' square bait,' otherwise known as a 'net'.I also remember being in the bar of the, (then new, and now gone),Paynesville Hotel/Boatel/Aerotel, when a chap sidled up to me saying that he had just flown down the Straits and didn't see the power line, bringing it down. I think it was a Cessna ... a high wing anyway. There used to be a grass strip next to the Hotel but,I wasn't into aviation then, and thought it was a great joke until I arrived home on Raymond Island to find there was no power ! Another day my mate from R.I.and I decided to clear a few blocks we had near the pub . He said, all we needed were a few hessian bags to control the burn ,and being a dumb 30 something year old, and him nearly fifty, I naturally believed him . The grass was long and the day warm . It soon became obvious that we were out of our depth, and hightailed it back to the old Dodge 114, and headed out of town . We met the fire engine about 2 k's out of town with its bells ringing and lights flashing, heading the other way....... Ah yes Oscar, "those were the days" ..... Bob
