  10. Well I am looking forward to seeing what Bex is offering, if what he has is cheaper and as safe to fly as what we have now, why not, I don't have $100k or more to throw at a new plane, so let's give him a fair go and see what he come's up with, you never know. David
  11. Welcome MauleKGS. You live in a nice part of the world Bribie Island..I am just up to road from you, I guess you fly out of Caboolture? David
  12. Hey Bandit love your Snoopy avatar... David
  13. That's a pity they looked like some fun to compete in and it would have been good for the spectator, at least you have something to watch, not like fly in's these days just watching planes take off and land all day, get's a bit boring if you are just there watching ... David
  14. Well done mate.!!!!
  15. That's why I love the Gazelle and aircraft like them, you can fold the wings put them in a trailer and store them at home or if you want to go somewhere and don't want to fly there you can hook up the trailer and off you go, great idea I think to make flying more affordable but with modern design that brings with it new airframe and engine and of course safety.. Now if you could get a factory built one and registered as a #24 that would be great for people like me who have no idea how to build an aircraft... David
  16. Yes the bi plane idea is really good, can't wait to see more of it Alan. David
  17. OMG:groan: let's all go back to skool..what sort of forum is this again???
  18. As a student I found the Human Factors Course that I did not to long ago was very informative and interesting, the test was easy enough if you did a bit of study before the course and our instructor didn't just give us the answers we had to work for them. I personally thought that it was well worth the time and money spent and everytime I want to go and have a flying lessons I think about how I am feeling and whether I am up physically and emotionally with it enough to do what is required of me to perform as a safe pilot. I might say that our instructor on the day was very good and added some laughs in there as well, that made it a lot easier to do... J David
  19. Ok didn't think I would be going because I left getting somewhere to stay a bit late, but I was lucky and got a cancellation, now I am going, so I will drive down there from Caboolture on Friday morning (early) and go home Sunday morning. Maybe I will get to meet some of you guys there for the meeting, see you there.. David
  20. Yes that is nice to see, I think us older people seem to bag the younger gen as being given everything they want and not having to work for anything so it is very good to see that, maybe you could have given them your car to wash instead, I know mine is filthy from all the rain we have had, I would have happily given them mine to do.. David
  21. You must have the senses of superman Tom..he heard it up here in QLD.. mate I couldn't help myself...
  22. I was just talking about guys on hourly rate not doing any more work than what they were contracted to do or that is in their scope of works that are in the construction industry...builders that fall over and take subbie's for the thousands..thats another story and thread altogether. David
  23. Well why do you work for nothing?? I thought you instructors were smart guys, I am in the contruction industry and there is no one I know that would work for 1 hour and then 1 hour for free. When you are employed by a flying school surely you would negotiate the rate you want and what you are expected to do? So if you guys work extra hours for 0 money who's fault is that, don't complain or say you don't get paid for this and that or paid enough, at some of the high hourly rates that I have seen quoted someone is making the money, so if it's not the instructors who is it?? I am sure we are all smart enough and have the rights not to work for someone if you don't like the pay and conditions, and if that really is what you have to do and are being paid that amount to do it...I would say why are you..I could not afford to do all of those hours for such small money, maybe that's why we hear of bad instructors, maybe they have just had enough but have to put up with it because they have no where else to go. Everyone needs a fair days pay for a fair days work...isn't that what Australia was built on...??? David
  24. I am in Caboolture, I read that because of all he rain they are having to spray for mosquitos a lot more..maybe an aircraft the council have put on to spray for the little annoying buggers...helicopter maybe.. David
