  1. Well I can't compete with those, but did my first solo flight in a few years, after my BFR , very hazy day due to smoke, but took a few snaps with my mobile Around Bunbury
  2. Cheers, weather permitting I have the eaglet booked on Friday, looking forward to it..
  3. Stating the obvious - As someone who has trained on Jabs, I would have no hesitation getting back in one tomorrow, but had I read all of this before I started flying, being someone not "in the know", I probably would have gone for a school operating something with a Rotax (less risk), so unfortunately for Jabiru the general reputation of unreliable engines will hurt them.. warranted or not.
  4. There is a notice on their website saying they are having issues with the supplier and they don't know if they will ever stock them again.
  5. It seems the Knee dock is no longer available :( Can anyone recommend another product that suits? There are quite a few out there at the moment.
  6. I've heard good things about Jim Davis' book too, he has written one for ppl in australia as well. http://www.jimdavis.com.au/ And no I don't sell them or anything like that ;)
  7. Yes they are a lovely aircraft, almost seem to land themselves ;)
  8. So after 16 months of no flying I have just completed my flight review and legal to fly again :) thanks to the guys at bunbury aero club for bringing me back up to standard. I did it over multiple lessons over the last few weeks in the tecnam eaglet. Yesterday was just a stunning day to go for a fly, zero wind and silky smooth air, I wish I had a camera with me yesterday, but was too busy doing stalls, steep turns and forced landings anyway ;)
  9. I love the look of the cx4, is it possible to have wing fuel tanks? I see they are developing the 2 seat CX5 which will have wing tanks
  10. PS I would happily mow a footy field or two for a flip in the bonny ;)
  11. Hi Richard, welcome, I've flown into Broome once but I was in the back being served drinks... I loved the fact that the airport is smack bang in the middle of town. Saw some trikes there as well. Would love to take a flight around the area, I was only there for 2 days for work, had a quick look for an aero club to see if I could squeeze in a flight but alas...
  12. Ever since I got that life insurance she has been trying to get me to go flying alone every day ;)
  13. you can download the whole ERSA beforehand - not too sure about the weather, outside of 3G coverage. However I have just bought the new ipad 16GB with 3G. I was surprised apple would let me tether it to my Android phone, but it works a treat as long as you have 3G coverage
  14. You could also do the Advanced pilot rating ( or whatever it is called)
  15. Even better I'd they get it flying again, bit of a challenge but you never know
  16. How cool is this: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2170817/German-seaplane-recovered-depths-fjord-70-years-sank-raising-hopes-fly-again.html
  17. So if you don't already hold a casa license you can't use it. Eg you cannot apply for a spl on The driver’s licence medical (aviation). You need a class 2.
  18. I take it this does not mean the actual RPL is now available? This still needs to be approved by CASA before we start seeing it available?
  19. With carbon tax isn't it more like a $200 hamburger now ;)
  20. Nice, keep at it. I recently got back into it after 16 months! Was surprised it wasn't as bad as I thought. Got a double lessson this weekend again working towards my BFR. Determined to keep it going this time. Enjoy!
  21. With the lycoming o 233 you only have 215 kg payload, no good. Is rotax an option?
  22. Agreed CASA deserve a pat on the back for this one, credit where it is due
