  1. Doesn't anyone have some flying to do?
  2. Yes, Easily done if they wanted to,, but why change the rego number? It's pretty much how you identify the exemption it's operated under. An Annual isn't problem we are required to do them now, and much like GA, who's policing it? We already have BFRs, just as GA do and the same goes for policing it. Those who do them will have it recorded in a logbook just like GA. While I have no problem with picking these people up, if they haven't paid $84K in fines, why would they start paying now? I'm quite certain that the regulators that come up with some of this stuff really haven't thought it through. Reminds me of Hans Blix threatening Kim Jong Il in Team America.
  3. Use a small gun turret with head tracker like the AH-4 and Tiger......🤣
  4. 2019- 168 hrs 2020- 180hrs The main difference in my flying is that I haven't left the state since January.
  5. Did you sling the Avon over your back for 20 000 K? 😁
  6. Probably wasn't the exhaust noise they were worried about....Most likely the screeching rear tyre and smoke while OK was doing donuts out the front of the cop station🤣
  7. It has been well publicised that some of Dan's measures were not ever recommended by his CHO, infectious disease experts or anyone, and much discussion about the lack of effectiveness of said measures. Unless you only listen to the ABC, in which case Dan is god. I will leave this discussion right here, as we've had this discussion many times over and the thread ended up being terminated. There are various opinions on how bad the virus is and whether the response was appropriate and clearly we are poles apart. So I will leave it there.
  8. As has been mentioned many times...Dan put these people there, and some of them , it turns out have not made some recommendations that Dan has claimed he is acting on. So no matter which way you look at it....Dan is in charge and is ultimately responsible for Victoria and the mess that it's in. Same goes for the idiot we have running QLD, she'd be a Dan in the blink of an eye if a few people became infected. It may surprise you to learn also that the airports are generally well monitored, and just because Turbo doesn't approve doesn't make it illegal.
  9. There are constant letters to the local paper in Toowoomba complaining about noise at the airport which was established in 1913. Many of them whinge about the helicopters that keep odd hours. Rescue choppers are the only ones that fly there at all hours and if they are flying late it's because they had to go and fly someone to hospital.
  10. Here's one that got a bit more complicated...
  11. Exactly....No one else can do as much to keep you safe as you can do yourself. Dan's trying hard though.
  12. I see it as part of the problem. That and the "Safety at all costs" mentality, and other issues.
  13. That would be an understatement......My experience is.... Tradie-" I think it could be worn" Supervisor- "Replace it anyway, I don't want to get in trouble for sending it out U/S" Tradie- "This bolt is corroded" (looking at a tiny spot of surface corrosion on the head)...." We have a whole box of 'em. I'll replace it" (even if they didn't have a box of them, they would order it AOG at great cost) That's why I cringe every time I hear we have ex-defence people getting into RAus management. ( I'm ex defence too BTW)
  14. Haha....Different aircraft. Got a 70+ inch two blade Sensenich on it. When you pull the throttle back to idle, you can just drop the nose and descend over 1500fpm and stay below Va.
  15. Some may remember the old "From the wonderful world of General Electric" jingle from the Fridge ads. The 20mm Vulcan cannons That I serviced were also from the wonderful world of General Electric. Many day to day companies have produced weapons. I also recall ads by Ford Aerospace for AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles. As for fair....Yeager reckons that if you went into a dogfight thinking that it was going to be "fair" you would probably lose.
  16. I am fairly sure that I read somewhere a few years ago that Rotax 9 series engines were being used in some American UAVs. The commentary was that some people were very annoyed because in the UAVs they were given a very short service life and were required to be destroyed on removal so that no civvies could use the parts.
  17. Here is someone who used an MT CS prop. Perhaps there is generally silence because your responses are abrasive and bordering on rude. It appears that every response is met with ridicule.
  18. For those in the industry it's far from hilarious. The Original article may be a joke, bit I assure you that it's not that different in reality. It bothers me greatly that our Police Service now thinks it's the Special Forces and our Defence Force is now more like a "Special School" competing to see just how "woke" they can be. It's not a good sign.
  19. Aware of that Skippy, that's why I said a CS prop would be beneficial. Airmaster is the only significant experience I have. No problems with them and they are available with different blade type options. If I was buying one , they would be my choice. If you don't understand the merits of the CS pop, don't get one.
  20. Then, I think that a CS prop is probably going to provide some benefit. The Rotax owner website recommends setting up for Max continuous (around 5500 RPM) at WOT straight and level. If the Zephyr is a clean as you reckon, there may well be another 10 kts to be gained. The only CS prop I have had a few hours behind is a 3 blade Airmaster in another slippery airframe. I think that it does a great deal for the aircraft. It gets full power on takeoff and climbout around 60 kts while knuckling down with speeds over 130kts at times. It is also simple to operate and can be feathered in case of engine failure. That is a bit subjective though, as in, If I had to spend $12k on one I might look to see what else I could do
  21. Skippy....What RPM do you get at WOT takeoff and what RPM do you get at WOT straight and level?
  22. What that means is that the Zephyr must be aerodynamically dirtier than you think. The laws of physics remain....Increase thrust or reduce drag. For something with a broad range of speed like your Zephyr the CS prop is likely to give some good gains. At which end, and how much you won't know until you try.
  23. I had to tell an acquaintance that I couldn't take him for a fly. I could have been under MTOW if I took a light fuel load and had a short flight, but would have exceeded my aft CoG limit even before I took off.
  24. Hahaha.....Nosewheel.......🤣 OzRunways has section in the aircraft library where you can create your own W&B envelope and load different configurations. I have set up several configs and find it really helpful.
  25. Do you think it possible that the balance tube might be a contributing factor? Balancing the the negative pressure in the manifolds despite the fact that one can only use a portion of the other.
