Sitting in your aircraft !. But Without the last bit of paper ( pilot certificate ), you just have to prtend to " soar like an eagle " . spacesailor

We Are missing something! . Bring back that cheap CNG. Most IC motors will run with it & the same infrastructure as LPG without the NOX problems. Someone got Rich by giving it away !. All those BEV oponents will be happy, not paying $100s of 000s to buy a Tesla. spacesailor

Why use one large motor. Three or more, each with sprag clutch , driving the prop gear. ( reduction gear from sprag ) ALL On to climb, one third off for cruise, then two thirds Off to decend. Only two thirds of the big single for cruising would extend battery life !. spacesailor

They DID use electricity . For years, we had electric milk carts, AND all the TRAMS were electric. BUT Pollies & Bureaucrats deemed ,for some reason to delete the metal rails . Then, when we had electric omnibuses, they tore down the overhead wires. Someone got rich from that scrap. NOW We will replace those unsightly rails & those ugly wires, bring back the 1940s tram,s, RENAME them little railways. SO someone else can get rich. SO wHY CAN,T WE USE THE ' OVERHEAD WIRES ' FOR OUR electric cars !!!. Cheaper than ' Battery powered ' cars. spacesailo ( stuck key again ))

You can even see the three rivers of Sidney !. Or just the ends. spacesailor

On automobiles it,s actually illegal to tweek the computer, for leaning the ' none power ' times on the newer engines. It gets rid of the black tail pipe. ( FUEL USED TO COOL THE MOTOR ). I have a friend who got caught. BUT he proved it worked good on his V6. spacesailor

My own children have suggested, downsizing, with a holiday on the spare cash !. BUT By the time we pay all the lawyers & real-estate fees. Plus that government taxes, ( stamp duty ) etc., We wouldn,t be financially any better off. SO we sit in our little suburban box, and keep those spare rooms ready for somebody/ anybody who drops by. The latest Great Grand Son , with his parents suddenly dropped in for a couple of days, SO Took them into Sydney for a day out. Marvelous !. BUT, wore me out, babies ho so cute, but aren,t they heavey ?. spacesailor

That ' new ' policy for those Lllong suffering diabetics, who now will get a permanent reading patch. Will still have to pay for their needles, while the self infected drug addicts get their FREE. Pollies are gross. ( almost swore ). No l,m not a diabetic. spacesailor

AND Thats the problem with them, Both Pollies & Bureaucrats, do Not produce anything, it,s the opposite they only strangle Everything they can encompass. If the farmer starts making a Little more money, He is soon engulfed in red tape & petty laws, to bring him to an exceptable level. spacesailor

The tail / nose wheel speed difference IS very noticeable in lower powered aircraft. I,m talking at least 10 knts, just putting a lump of a 5x4 wheel behind your prop will take away the airflow . While the tailwheel is smaller and much further away. Very short coupled aircraft are noticeably twitchy. And the aircraft maker often puts out both configurations. Just my observation. spacesailor -

BUT WITH black sticky tape you only need to put it were it,s needed. Not on the ' sunny side ' of the antenna. spacesailor -
Cscotthendry Please except that not all ' things ' are equal !. Some are made from uncertifide wood & cotton , made into uncertifide canvass, Some motors are home made to the designer/builders specs ! AND one of the BEST back yard mechanic,s engine, is very sought after, fetching six figures . " SAINTY speed works " motors were made under his house. Now at a designated high tech facility. Hospital blood tubing is ' certifed ' by Two operators, one standing beside the other, each reads the number off the automatic machine, looks at the tubing, then writes that no., on a ' A4 paper ' while the second one does exactly the same !. All stored for many years. Hence that cost blowout. Without cetifying, that machine could make a years product each day, without an operator at all. Should l put certified components on my half VW powered plan built home made plane ?, will half a certified motor be more safe , than the same motor the designer called for. spacesailor

I had to look it up ! . Remember all those ' screaming fans ', all wanting to touch & be touched by a star , The one l remember most was the girl who climbed a ladder to get into bed with her Idol. When she cried ' statoury rape ' the judge threw her case out, citing her eagerness to be in the position she found herself. He was a ' Tasmanian ' and a ' Hollywood ' filmstar ! ( my wifes favourite actor at that time ) spacesailor

The H B, s nose wheel configuration, requires room, between the engine & firewall !. Without moving the motor forward, How would you squeeze it in !, ( we,re talking inches not metres ( lots of connecting bit from rudder-bar )) The pilot,s bum sits behind, the wing spar, the heavier that bum, the more rearward the C B, The tailwheel has more than the wheel weight, ' extension from rudder to T piece, with two springs, two reinforcement plates in the fuselage. ( Hope l havn,t missed something serious ) LoL. spacesailor -

Hirth 3202 motor goes well. McCulloch 4 cylider 2 stroke is a little over powered, and very thirsty. The two cylinder HALF VW, is just powerfull enough, & Super thrifty on fuel. The Rotax 503 had to have ' lead weights ' put in the nose for C B. Remember that tail draggers are ' tail heavy ' While, nose draggers have the .motor pushed forward to accommodate the nosegear. Meaning heavier pilot accommodation. ( pilot weight goes to rear CB ). spacesailor
