It Will get worse, when Badgery creek starts up. Their flight is path over Prospect Reservoir area. That's were we sit here & watch the light planes pass over. On their way to Bankstown airport . Lots of houses being sold here since in was shown were the flight path would cover. spacesailor

Check your wing area, just to be certain it fits into A Caturgory., somewhere. spacesailor -
Bruce, So too the Hummel Bird. BUT A lot !, l mean A BIG lot cheaper. 6G + or minus without wing extensions. LoL 140 mph VNE wouldn't win many races. Unlike " STRAGA "A very modified mustang. 500 mph, the media quote. spacesailor

red750 In your profile albums, how many of them specify " wing loading ", With all the talk of ' upjust ' isn,t the G actor the test for wing strength !. + 6 & - 6 seems quite strong. It will stall, but the Reno air racer rules are 6 G + or minus. Few winga detach at their meetings. ( BeeGee modle R ) spacesailor

Is it the same datum, for three wheelers, to be in level fight position, I almost bought a plane, that was dropped while undergoing it,s w & b check. ( USA ). In my HB instructions it has to be leveled across the cockpit combing rails, fore & aft !. Wing incidences are taken from there too. spacesailor

Who would alter the designers & aero engineers, plus test pilots input !. I have very little schooling, so no, I think it,s up to the HummelAviation company to to put out a new mod, ( they have made that little plane, wider, taller and sleeker ). The Hummel Co redesigned it as an FAR part 103 ultralight. ( Ultrcruiser ) Then. Made it bigger for a full four cylinder motor, H5 ( 150 MPH VNE ) So if were lucky it Will come with retrofitted wing tanks, & only a small header tank. ( alreadt designed by a builder with a 4 pot two stroke ) spacesailor

One thing l don,t like on the Hummel , is the forward fuel tank. ( pilot sits to the rear to compensate ). On takeoff the plane is nose heavey ( but in W B ), so longer runway required. On landing empty tank means ' tail heavy ', easier to stall on the ' flare ' . OR Am I wrong !. spacesailor
-
I thought it was the massive leaking fuel , that put the balance out, which then, eventually ignited. HAa, we live & learn. Oops fotgot to sign it. spacesailor

If you took off with ' over fill ' tanks for that ' safety ' margin, what would the fine be when you arrive. . spacesailor
-
You are thinking BUREAOCRACY. A government law that says, " your plane won,t fly . if over a stipulated weight ". Of course if it doe,s fly, you cop a fine + loss of licence, ' IF ' your caught. spacesailor PS : If your nose heavy put a can of spare fuel in the tail. If tail heavy, put a spare battery in the engine bay !. LoL PPS : IF Hummelbird is nose heavy convert to ' tail dragger '. IF tail heavy, convert to three wheeler.

Max t,o,w, & balance. Some planes have fuel tanks forward of C,G, on take off they,r nose heavy. Great for speed !. But at the end of the day they are tail heavy, Good for stalling, when flaring. Definitely not a good thing. spacesailor

Not many will stop the prop , on a hand cranked engine !, just to see how far their glide range is . spacesailor

It was , PERFECT! , For those eons that humans had to carry everything on their back, never use a ' bushel ' for sand !. You will suffer a bad back. LoL Thats why so on many crazy measurements are illogical now, ( we have mechanism,s to do our lifting ). The newest ( should be in atheist ) , we now have lots of Births, without the original SIN !. PS: GOD FORBID spacesailor -

There is No logic in metric !. Put a person on a desert island, & they automatkcly revert ba k to theold system. Turn a handle , you suddenly forget ' mister Hertz ' No tape measure , no problem, use ' hand ' or ' foot ', And the same with every measurement , half a whole ( ' hole ' also ), half that & were back to fractions and not a milimetre will be found. I mean who in this country ( in this world ) will have the Atomic ' guage ' to measure those metric numbers. Fair go, they ' system International . Paris France ' will have you All talking their language. Germany and japan lost their war And their metric type system, DIN , & bu,sun system . If the Axis had won ???????????. spacesailor -

How does those ' odd ' car makers supply the wrong hand drive market !. The same argument to change right to wrong hand drive must be the same. BUT They still make English & Japanese cars for America. spacesailor -

The poms still mount their horses on the left, ( foot on the walkway, ) not on the roadway. If an English cavalier, had his lady on his right, he couldn,t draw his sword to fend off an attacker . spacesailor PS: the poms had One queen for two French kings. -
Same here !. BUT I have a new hip, and a collapsed disc in the lower back. So I did a Tandem jump in Turkey? FANTASTIC spacesailor

Or go, OLD SCHOOL rule. Inflate to guesstment, do a couple of high speed taxi runs, to heat those tyres. If 4 c higher than start, they're at optimal infation, any less is over pressure, any more is under optmal. A word from yesterday !. spacesailor

They ( they that rule ), missed a great opportunity to chang from the OLD side of the road to the wrong side, ( check why we walk on the left with the misses on our left ).when we were ' locked down ' , they could have chaged all those signs to make us Comply to the french system international. My daughter said something deogratry about that.. Remember, the French changed sides just to spite the poms. ( in their perpemtual war of dominance ). spacesailor -
South Grafton airfield. Tony Hayes had a Hummel Bird there ( end hanger l believe ). They ( Hummels) should only need a couple of large inner tubes, under their wings, to float above water. spacesailor

Perhaps l,m lucky, as having a son in law to take my old oil for pouring over wooden fence posts. He also take enything l need to go to a tip. All legal that is. We ( the family ) have a need for one member to become our ' plumber ', then we are covered for All trades. A ' pilot 'he works for ' Easyjet ' UK. Lucky Country. spacesailor

Barreries + horses! ? DON!T THEY PUT LEAD ON HORSES TO PENALIZE THEM? JUST A FLYING THING! WHEN THEY ' FLY ' down the straight. ( sorry stuck on caps again, ) then it just returns to lower case. spacesailor
